APPLICATION

Medium velocit y wat er s pray nozzle has an ext ernaldeflect or, which discharges wat er in a direct ional coneshaped pat t ern of small droplet size. The wat er isuniformly dist ribut ed over t he surface t o be pr ot ect ed.

The nozzle is used in deluge wat er s pray syst em forspecial hazard fir e prot ect ion applicat ion.

As t he design and int ent of specific wat er spr ay syst emmay vary considerably, a MV nozzle is made available inseveral combinat ion of or ifice sizes and spr ay angles.

The minimum desir able pressur e t o achieve a reasonable

spray pat t ern is 1 .4 Kg./Sq.cm. The wat er dist ribut ionpat t ern as shown in t he graph in following pages is atan average pressure of 2.0 Kg/Sq.cm. The change inpressur e bet ween 1.4 t o 3.5 Kg./sq.cm. does not affect

considerable change in spray angle. The spray pat t ernshown is wit h indoor applicat ion. Syst em designer mustconsider wind velocit y while designing t he syst em forout door applicat ion. Field obst r uct ion if any affect ing

t he spray pat t ern of t he nozzle must also be considered.The nozzle may be or ient ed t o any posit ion as deemednecessar y t o cover t he hazard.

M AINTENAN CE

The spr ay nozzle must be handled wit h due care. Forbest resul t s , t he st orage as wel l as any fur t hershipment be made in or iginal packing only.

Nozzle which is visibly damaged should not be inst alled.

Use Teflon t ape or s oft t hread sealant on male t hreadof t he nozzle. The nozzles must be hand t ight ened int ot he fit t ing. FG make wrench must be used t o t ight en

t he nozzle unit int o t he fit t ing. Excessive t ight eningt orque may r esult int o serious damage t o nozzle armsand t he deflect or which may affect spray pat t ern oft he nozzle and it 's perfor mance.

It i s r ecommended t hat wa t e r sp ray sys t em beinspect ed regular ly by aut horised t echnical personnel.The nozzle must be checked for cor rosion, ext ernal andint ernal obst ruct ion, blockage if any. The nozzle shouldbe cleaned or r eplaced if required. The syst em must beoperat ed wit h opt imum wat er flow at least t wice in ayear or as per t he provisions of N FPA/TAC or localaut horit y having jurisdict ion.

The owner is s olely responsible for maint aining t he wat erspray syst em and t he component s t herein so t hat itperforms properly when required.
