PROGRAM OUTLINE
Tor Vergata Medical Summer School for International Students is aten-days intensive program for highly motivated college students
who are pursuing a career in Medicine. The program introduces you to many aspects of translational
medicine, by the following science modules:
a) Talking about hematooncology and genes Coordinator Prof. F. Lo Coco
b) Talking about metabolic disease and the cardiovascular riskCoordinator Prof. P. Sbraccia
Each module is taught by Tor Vergata Medical School FacultyMembers and international major experts in the field. Students are
exposed to workshops, seminars and lab training to masterdevelopment of a problem-focused learning model of science
education. Clinical and laboratory exposure provides students with a
variety of experiences to develop an understanding of translational medicine application.
As part of the course, students have the opportunity to live ItalianCultural and Historical Heritage as a unique experience with anexclusive introduction to Italian Monuments and Archaeological
sites. English is the official language. The course lasts for 50 hours (40
hours lessons + 10 hours of cultural activities). 90% of attendance is mandatory to be awarded with 7 credits (ECTS).
ELIGIBILITY
Students must have completed 2 years of Medical School and must be in good academic standing. We encourage applications from
students of diverse backgrounds to create a pleasant cross-cultural exchange. A letter of recommendation from a University teacher, counsellor or principal -someone who has personal knowledge of
your CV, integrity, character or qualities - is required. Italian students are allowed in a limited number.
RESIDENTIAL LIFE
Residential life is as much a part of the course experience to make
lifelong international connections. Students will be housed at Collegio Lamaro-Pozzani (CLP), located in Tuscolana area.
Metro stop is at 10 min. distance walk. CLP provides comfortable lodging and meals for the entire
duration of the Medical Summer School .

Admission is offered on a rolling basis. As enrolment is limited, it is
critical to submit applications early. Applications will be accepted
not later than May 29 and will be confirmed before June 12.
FEES
The total residential program cost is Euro 850 , including housing and meals.
When submitting their inscription, participants will be asked to pay
a non-refundable registration fee of 50 euros to be credited towards the program tuition.
