636 CROUP AND DiFETHEBIA IN THE LOWER ANIMALS. WE have received letters on this subject from Dr. George Johnson and Mr. Fleming, the publication of which we are compelled to defer until our next issue. Mr. W. G. Burroughs.-If our correspondent will apply to Mr. Carsten Holthouse, 3, George-street, Hanover-square, we have no doubt he will - obtain the information he wants. GOVERNMENT VACCINE. To the Editor of THE LANCET. SIR,-I should like to know the opinion of my fellow-subscribers to THE LANCET as to the value of the vaccine lymph received on application from the National Establishment. Having many times found that the results following its use have been either negative or very slight compared with ’those obtained from my own often imperfectly filled tubes, I might have possibly attributed this to my want of expertness as a vaccinator ; but I feel ,convinced that this is not the case, having heard similar complaints from other practitioners. The tubes always appear thoroughly well filled, and the matter of the clearest nature. One cannot help feeling glad to be able to obtain a supply "gratis" in time of need; but it is disappointing at times to meet with the result I have stated.-Yours obediently, April 16th, 1875. A COUNTRY PUBLIC VACCINATOR. ERRATUM.-In Mr. Franklyn’s letter on "Bone-setting," published in our last issue, page 597, line 20 from bottom of column, for " disease," read disuse.
