MD, HMRL Mr. NVS Reddy inspected today (Sunday) the Metro Haritha Haram

preparatory works wherein plantation of 1.20 lakh saplings is being taken up by HMRL

under the 25 lakh mega plantation programme on Monday (July 11, 2016).

He inspected preparatory works for plantation of ornamental shrubs under the

Metro Rail viaduct between Tarnaka and Uppal x Roads; avenue plantation works along

the Metro Rail corridors and in nearby colonies in Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar, Osmania

University premises, Chaitanyapuri and BN Reddy Nagar, etc.

Mr. Reddy has also visited Research Centre Imarat (RCI) and Centre for High

Energy Systems & Sciences (CHESS) where HMRL is planting 20,000 saplings. He has

inspected the preparatory work of treating the excavated pits with fertilizers and pesticides

and instructed the horticulture staff of HMRL to arrange the required number of plants at

convenient locations so that the students and staff of nearby schools and Government

institutions can complete the planting of 20,000 saplings.

Pitting and other preparatory works for plantation of all the 1.20 lakh saplings has

been satisfactorily completed by HMRL at 36 locations in different parts of the city, he

added.
