Q2- How does your media product represent particular social groups

+Front cover ImageThe reason I asked Lauren to wear this shirt, to have her make up like that as well as her hair was to create a representation that she could be anyone so any girl from any where or any class could look at Lauren and think “ if she did it so can I”Having a female model represents “girls” and by having her be the main model of a music tech magazine it encourages girls to get into a male dominated genre. The social media links represents the young, modern audience

Mulve believed in the “Male gaze” which says how women only do things to attract men I decided to not use this theorist when taking my photos as by not looking voyeuristic it appeals to everyone

I did use dyer “A star is an image, not a real person” when constructing my pages as I wanted to give Lauren a natural image to make her appeal to everyone and make her look like a ukulele master

+Contents page By using a wide range of photos we created many different representations

By using the photo of Amy, Amy and Morgan (trio rock)and making their trousers different color's it creates that representation that they are a very energetic band which would appeal to a younger audience

I used modern fashion representations such as having the painted finger nails this would make it appeal to a modern audience

The social media links represent a younger audience as they would be the ones who would know what to do with them

When constructing my pages I used Ryall’s theory “ Genre provides a frame work” to design my contents page as I knew the conventions of technical equipment magazine contents pages from research which made constructing the page that much easier

By having the sheet music and the article featured “Music lesson” it represents knowledge as the article is teaching you how to read music

By using a wide range of color's there is not just colors' appealing to one gender it appeals to both making the magazine more unisex representing everyone equally.By having the photos of the article in vivid colour it represents Lauren as being lively and energetic making her appeal to a younger audience.

When constructing my DPS I kept dyer in mind “A star is an image, not a real person” as I wanted to give Lauren the star image that she could be anyone but I also wanted to make her seem fun and lively which I tired to do through the pop art style of my photos.

I used the recurring blue colour scheme that is present in my Front cover, Contents and DPS to create a house style and recurring colour scheme to create synergy in all 3 of my pages.
