Who would be the audience for your media product?

Predominantly, 16-30 year old women.

We briefly stated in our pitch that our media production would be suitable for the target audience between the ages of 16-50 as well as in our BBFC cinema rating research that our media product will be a 12a certificate rating.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

With our production complete we feel that this audience, to an extent, is no longer applicable. We think that our 2 minute feature film would not specifically conform to the expectations and interests of an individual around the age of 50 due to the brief nudity shown of our main character Jennifer. However the research we complied regarding BFFC cinema ratings, does state that audiences viewing a 12a film are to expect some nudity, language, sex and mature themes. In just the first 2 minutes of our film, although no foul language, sex nor mature themes featured, we did not think the brief aspect of nudity would be suitable for an audience of PG which is why we eliminated the prospect of ‘As time moves on’ being a PG.

However, we still believe that our two minute sequence is still appropriate teenagers as we feel the narrative and story line

is one that teenagers can relate to – whether it be feeling isolated, or secluded. Therefore keeping our film at a 12a

rating, widens our audience as the film can still be suitable for film goers at the age of 12, but more specifically 16-30.
