Who would be the audience for your media product?• I have asked several people what they think about

our media product and the majority say they enjoyed it. They said they liked the plot as it was simple but spooky. The percentage of the people who did not like it was 20%, shown in this chart.

• I asked them if they would buy it and half said they wouldn’t, the other half would buy it if it was a whole film. The only 10% said they would watch it in the cinema.

• I asked where they would buy our product from and they said from a cheap DVD. More people would choose to buy a cheap DVD instead of go to watch it in the cinema.

• Our audience is fragmented because they are split into small groups due to the wide spectrum of media outlets. There is a fairly big group of people who like supernatural horrors so we would need to use that as our selling point.

How did you attract/ address your audience?

• We addressed our audience by giving them a questionnaire to fill out what they preferred for use to include in our media product on Surveymonkey.com. We chose to put the questionnaire on our Facebook and Tumblr page to get as much results as we could, this would make our results have more variety of ages.

Our results• Our results stayed in our minds when we were making decisions for our film such as in a domestic

setting as 74% said they would like to see that, we used a house that had recently been lived in as Charely Ballow was house sitting. It was also a modern house as you can see glimpses of the fridge and a sink with running water and in our actual film and Charley is wearing up to date clothes. We chose to include their decision as it led to the audience believing the situation could happen to everyone even in the modern day which had the result of 86% if they liked the setting.

OUR RESULTS

• They also believed strongly that the protagonist should be a child instead of an adult as the results were 100% for a child. This was put into our film as Victoria is a little girl and it played with the minds of everyone as they were a child once in their life.

Target Audience• We made our decision of our target

audience to be 15 on the British Board of Film Classification as it includes strong violence and a slight sense of blood and gore. During our planning our audience were kept up to date with what we were doing through our Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
