In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Looking back at my flat plans and designing of the final magazine piece i can tell that the most similar existing magazine out there is “Classic rock” I uses similar house style as well as colours and themes. The layout is also similar. Looking more in depth at the “Classic Rock” magazine i can tell that they aren’t so different. On the first slide in this presentation i have analysed first pages of both my magazine as well as the existing magazine out there. Both my magazine and Classic rock magazine use larger titles and different colours for titles of articles. The main image and the main article can be recognisable just by looking at the from cover. Both my magazine have used pictures that look classic and present one of the band members which is popular at the moment. In order to attract the readers attention both my and classic rock have pasted a large image in the middle of the magazine in order to make it more attractive, relating to the topic.Main features of the magazine can both be found on the left side of the magazine explaining what are the main articles in this issue. It also has Plugs which contains something to attract the reader with my magazine used the list of the best 5 bands in 2015 to attract readers as it is the main rock magazine the same as classic rock people will be listening to the things that are written there. Looking closer at contents page and double page spreads my magazine has used a simple layout compared to the classic rock magazine which uses a more complex and darker theme but the double page spread is similar we have both used the same type of language in order to attract the reader and make him want to read the article. I have used few images and quotes from the article in order to make sure that the reader is interested in reading it it will also show some of the latest pictures of the band which are only available in the exclusive and have been made by the photographer of the magazine himself.
