PhotographersUMass subscribes to the policy suggested by the NCAAFootball Rules Committee, and all photographers must shootwithin designated areas as determined by the NCAA.Photographers must have a special photo credential issuedby the media relations office and must stay outside of thebench areas.

RadioRadio lines (analog) are available to visiting radio at McGuirkAlumni Stadium for a fee of $75 per line per game or byreciprocal agreement. An ISDN line is also available for $150per game. All lines must be requested at least one weekprior to the game. Out-going calls should be made on acollect or calling card basis. Minutemen on TelevisionUMass will once again make a number of appearances onlive television during the 2006 regular season. The Navy game(Sept. 9) will be aired nationally on CSTV, as well as theNew Hampshire game (Nov. 4). The Villanova game (Sept.16) and the Northeastern game (Oct. 28) will be shown byCN8 on Comcast Cablevision. UMass’ homecoming game withRhode Island (Oct. 21) will be televised by the Atlantic 10Television Network. Last season, UMass had five gamescarried on live television, as the Colgate, James Madison,New Hampshire, Delaware, and Army games were all aired.The Minutemen have a record of 19-13 in televised gamessince the beginning of the 1998 season, including a 14-7record against Atlantic 10 opponents.

From the North: Take Route 91 South to Exit 25. At the end of the ramp turn leftand follow the road to the intersection. Turn right on to Routes 5 & 10 South. Go 1mile, take a left on to 116 South, then eight miles to UMass exit. Take a left at theend of the ramp on to Massachusetts Avenue. Take a right at the first set of lights(usually blinking yellow) and proceed approximately one-quarter mile. The stadiumentrance will be on the right.

From the South: Take Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton / Amherst). Take aright on to Route 9 and go approximately five miles, just past the Amherst-Hadleytown line. In addition,every game and coaches showcan be heard live on theworldwide web, by logging on towww.umassathletics.com. Thepregame show begins 30 minutesprior to kickoff.

Don Brown’s hour-long weeklyradio show, broadcast live from TheHangar Pub & Grill in Amherst, airsevery Thursday during the footballseason at 7 p.m. The first show will take place on Thursday,August 31. Each week two player guests join Coach Brown andhost Bob Behler. All shows are open to the general public.

UMass and WRNX have extended their agreement for twomore years, throught the 2007-2008 season. This season marksthe fifth year that UMass football has aired in Western Mass onWRNX. UMass has brought its entire radio network operationsin-house while purchasing the air time directly from WRNX, amove that allows the university to control all networkcommercial inventory and generate more corporate revenuefor the athletic program. returns for hiseighth season asthe “Voice of theMinutemen.” Heearned “Best Play-By-Play” honorsfrom theMassachusetts andRhode IslandAssociated Press forthe fifth time in thelast six years. Itwas the secondtime in three yearsthat he and MattGoldstein were honored for UMass Football, winning withtheir call of the Army game. Behler, who also announcesmen’s basketball on the UMass Network and hosts the weeklycoaches shows in both sports, has won the AP award threetimes for basketball. As Manager of Broadcast Properties,he oversees the radio network as well as the internetbroadcasts for many of the other UMass teams.

Behler also hosts“The Press Box,” a sports talk show that airs Monday throughFriday from 3-6 p.m. on The Zone (640 AM) in Springfield.Prior to joining the UMass broadcasts, he was the play-by-play announcer at Bucknell University for 13 years. Otherbroadcasting credits include minor league baseball stintswith the Chattanooga Lookouts and Williamsport Cubs, play-by-play of the NCAA Basketball Tournament for CBS Radio,and two Goodwill Games for Turner Broadcasting. Behleris a 1985 graduate of the University of Georgia, where hemajored in broadcast news and did the play-by-play for theBulldog women’s basketball and baseball teams.

Matt Goldstein will be in his second full season as coloranalyst and is in his fourth year with the network. A kickerfor the 2004 Minutemen, Goldstein worked for the UMassNetwork for two years as an undergraduate, while earninghis degree in communications. During the 2003 footballseason, he started as the sideline announcer and also filledin on color. That broadcast, the Northeastern game, wonthe Associated Press award as the best broadcast in 2003.He also has been the halftime host on the basketballbroadcasts and called play-by-play for women’s lacrosse andsoftball.
