Andrés Vicente Gómez · President

In 1967 Gómez set up his own production company, and has produced almost 100 titles since then. Prizes won at Venice, Berlin, Montreal and San Sebastián and the Oscar which Gómez won for Fernando Trueba’s Belle Epoque, has sealed his international status. Gómez was further honoured in 1998 by the Cannes Film Festival as one of the world’s 5 most important �lm producers.

Gómez is the man behind the success of production companies Iberoamericana Films Producciones, Rocabruno and Lola�lms. Working most proli�cally under Lola�lms, the company has its own in-house distribution arm, Lola�lms Distribución, which is responsible for acquired as well as their own-produced �lms.

In addition to his extensive production activities, Andrés Vicente Gómez is President of the Media Business School, one of the European Union’s centres of excellence in training and development under the MEDIA Plus Programme, as well as being a founding member of the distinguished Paris-based think tank Le Club des Producteurs Européens. He is a member of the European Film Academy and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. On 2003 – 2009, he acted as President of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

Andrés is in possession of di�erent honors including France’s Cavalier de les Arts.

mpbs is a project-based, tutorial and consultation driven course, which focuses on the business aspects of creating cross-platform content.

mpbs is designed for participants to develop their skills in creating crossmedia strategies and building sustainable business models for projects with transmedia potential. mpbs is led by Michel Reilhac, former Head of Acquisitions at Arte France and Executive Director of Arte France Cinema.

Pere Roca · mega plus Course Director

Soon after graduating in Language and Literature from the Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona, Pere Roca entered the �eld of audiovisual management and production, beginning with �ction and commercials. He served a ten-year spell as Executive Producer at IMATCO, an independent Spanish production company; this involved him in feature �lms, TV series, documentaries and TV specials. Also, in coproductions and co-development with Cameras Continentals, FR3, Gerhard Schmidt, TR Maroc, Channel4, Seventh Art, TVE, TVC, and so on. For four years he was a freelance producer for Zentropa, FR3 and Canal 9 Spain among other companies.Pere Roca has been co-operating with the Media Business School since its inception in 1991 when he directed the Feasibility Study for PILOTS (Programme for the International Launch of Television Series) and from 1993-96 he was Managing Director of PILOTS.

From 1996 to 1999 he was Deputy Programming Director of TVC (Catalan Television) and Coordinator of the Production Department at ESCAC (the Catalan School of Cinema and Audiovisual Studies). Lecturer and Expert at several European training initiatives, he worked as a Consultant of the Intermediary Organization of the Media Training Program.

Since 1999 until 2003, Pere Roca was Head of Development of Filmax, a major Spanish Production and Distribution Company and between 2004 and 2007 he directed the Centre for Audiovisual Development (CDA), a public service institution, which functioned as a development body for those Spanish companies that did not have in house Development Department.

Between May 2088 and December 2010, Pere was the Director of the Cultural Channel of TVE. Since February 2011 he works as a free lance Executive Producer his major client being Focus Audiovisual one of the leading companies in the �eld of Cultural and Entertainment Industries in Spain. Also, since January 2013 he is Director of MEGA of MBS.

Peter Buckingham · m&id Course Director

Peter is a partner in SampoMedia, an organisation dedicated to �nding new thinking and new methods for artists and �lmmakers to reach an audience e�ectively. Peter has had more than 30 years in the �lm business – starting as a 35mm projectionist. Since then he has worked almost every possible role in cinema and �lm distribution. He is committed to helping independent �lm reaching its audience – the central theme of all his work in the industry.

For the last few years he was Head of Distribution & Exhibition at the UK Film Council and subsequently the British Film Institute. There he worked on increasing the breadth and diversity of �lm audiences across the UK, as well as encouraging audience appreciation of UK �lms.

Peter helped pioneer the development of a number of ground breaking innovation initiatives to achieve this goal. These include the P&A Fund (prints & advertising), the world’s �rst 2k Digital Screen Network – providing over 200 cinemas with digital projection technology – the highly successful website Findany�lm.com and the foundation of Schools Film Club now showing �lms in over 7,000 schools across the UK.

All the many projects that Peter manages produce business and market intelligence about how audiences respond to particular �lms and audience behaviour which has been shared with the industry to help the development of �lm and cinema businesses.Via SampoMedia Peter is currently obsessing about �lm audiences, digital and new business models. As part of that SampoMedia is working with industry bodies, �lm makers, training bodies, government agencies various organisations such as the BFI, Screen Agency Wales, Film London, UNIC, Cinema First, EDCF various exhibitors and distributors and of course the MBS here in Ronda.

He is also on a number of boards and advisory boards as well as lecturing at many universities and �lm schools.

Peter is a well-known industry �gure who was previously Deputy Chief Executive of FilmFour Limited and named Video Distributor of the Year in 2000. Prior to FilmFour, he was MD of Chris Blackwell’s Oasis Cinemas, building up a specialised cinema chain. He has also worked as Director of Film Distribution for Richard Branson’s Virgin Vision.

Michel Reilhac · mpbs Course Director

Michel Reilhac is an independent transmedia storyteller, writing , directing and developping his own projects, exploring hybrid forms of narration. He is currently in pre-production for his project « Ultratrailer », using 6 di�erent narrative blocks and platforms. He lives in Paris and Berlin. He is also Head of Studies for the newly formed Venice Biennale College, and Director of the Multi Platform Master Studies at the Media Business School ( Ronda residency). He teaches, holds workshops and does presentations on transmedia storytelling on a regular basis at many international events ( Cannes International Film Festival, Sunny Side of the Doc, The Pixel Lab, Dixit, FEMIS, ...).

In 2012 he has been elected Man of the Year in �lm by the french trade magazine « Le Film Français » for his work at Arte ( french/german public broadcaster):For over 10 years, from May 2002 until november 2012 , Michel Reilhac was Head of Film Acquisitions at Arte France and executive director of Arte France Cinema, co-producing around 28 independant feature �lms from all over the world every year.

His past experience includes being a contemporary dancer while graduating from an MBA in France and the USA ; producing international tours for major dance companies ; directing the National Contemporary Dance Center in Angers, France ; managing the National Theater of Chaillot in Paris ; designing and directing the Forum des Images, a �lm archive in Paris...He has also designed several innovative events and shows based on his original concepts :

· Les Arts Etonnants as �rst experience based exhibition in Paris, · the Modern Ballroom for participative choreography, · Dark/ Noir as very �rst events involving blind people as creative trainers and guides in complete darkness, ...· In the dark, the very �rst restaurants in complete darkness

He has directed a number of documentaries for television. His �rst feature, based on archive footage from the silent days of cinema is called « The Good Old Naughty Days » and premiered at the Cannes Festival in 2002.Since 2008 he has become a �ag bearer of the exploration of hybrid forms in storytelling, otherwise labelled « transmedia », o�ering an immersive, participatory , interactive experience to the audience/ participants.

As an international media consultant, Erica acquires, packages, and �nances content for distribution clients: Sonar Entertainment, K5 International, TriBeCa Enterprises, and Edelman. She is currently developing a slate of projects with Justin Lin (FAST AND FURIOUS), Jason Blum (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY), Tim Kring (HEROES), and Mark Verheiden (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA). Erica packaged Paul Walker's South African driving movie VEHICLE 19 and acquired Mira Nair's Venice-opening feature THE RELUCTANT FUNDAMENTALIST; Oscar-nominated doc CUTIE AND THE BOXER; and PULSE Film's SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS, LCD Soundsystem’s last concert �lm. After two years on Wall Street and a Harvard MBA, Erica held senior TV and Film Acquisitions positions at HBO, Fox, BMG, Shine and UIP. She is also a Financing and Branded Content expert for the Media Business School.
