Who de- cided that ‘no electrical work must be done after hours’? If the electricity cuts even a minute after five; the Rustenburg Municipality does not allow overtime to dispatch guys to fix it… Is it to save money? Because, let me tell you one thing – and I’m no expert, but the electricity still on the grid after an outage will be lost if the electricity is not switched on. And all I’m supposed to do is pay my bills, suffer in silence ánd in darkness. This is NOT ON! I am sure there are workers willing to work flexible hours and accommodate emergencies. When the electricity outage strikes, it influences the elderly, students study- ing for exams, evening arranged sports, business meetings, families getting to- gether. What about the children? And in the darkness lies the trouble – idle hands are bad enough… but what about idle hands in the dark? This is a security threat! You don’t need a rocket scientist to fig- ure it out. My question; is the municipal- ity in financial stress? So much so that they can’t afford overtime, but they can waste electricity on the grid?
