Attendance Letters We hold our hands up and apologise to parents who were
offended by the attendance letters that went out last week, we
think we got the tone wrong. In future we are going to put a
piece in the Newsletter before any letters go out so that parents
are informed that standard letters will be issued and we can take
the opportunity to state exactly why we send these letters. We
don’t want to alarm parents unnecessarily, we know that there
are times when children cannot be in school, at the same time
we want to keep parents informed so that are aware of their
child’s attendance and we do want to challenge poor attendance
and poor punctuality. We want the very best for every child.
We are sorry if the letter you received upset you, we hope that
by tweaking our systems we will help you to understand why we
do the things that we do, always trying to improve outcomes for
our children. If you remain concerned, then please do not
hesitate to contact Mr Mitchell.
After School Clubs Next week, we’ll put out the list of after school activities for next
half term, look out for it! You will also be able to sign up on line
using Agora.
Black History
Month October is Black History
Month, and each class in

taking part in the election
process!

The Deca Tree
In the forest there is a Deca Tree.
A Deca Tree has 10 trunks,
and on each trunk there are 10
branches,
and on each branch there are 10
twigs,
and on each twig there are 10
leaves:
One day a woodcutter came along and cut down
one trunk from the tree.
Then he cut off one branch from another trunk
of the tree.
Then he cut off one twig from another branch.
Finally he pulled one leaf from another twig.
How many leaves were left on the tree then?
