A Message from Morah Marsha
There was a parade of color running through MDS Camp on Thursday. All of our campers took pride in their bunk color. There were murals made by each bunk representing their bunk name and color. They are on display either outside or inside each of the bunk rooms - take a look! They are masterpieces!
This coming Tuesday is Topsy Turvy day. Have the campers wear their zaniest, inside out, un-matched outfit !
Thursday, August 6th is our last trip day.
The Tziporim, Dagim, Giborim and Malkot are going peach picking. The Kochavim, D'vorim,Prachim and Parparim will enjoy an amazing puppet show.
On to week #6!!
Shabbat Shalom
There are many exciting activities happening at camp every week . Our
counselors take pictures of the children having fun and keeping busy
throughout the day. While we can’t include all pictures in the Newsletter,
the pictures are uploaded every week to Dropbox, a private photo-
sharing website. (These pictures cannot be accessed without a direct
link.) Links to the photos are below - click the link to your child’s bunk to
see their pictures. More pictures will be added on an ongoing basis but
the link will stay the same, so you can save it for future viewing. We hope
you enjoy!

Dear Families,
Colors were all around this week in camp! Our Kocahvim shone bright in their
white shirts on color day- in art they collaged a star with different white
materials and added their handprints to the big mural that the whole camp
created. The children also frosted delicious cupcakes with white frosting in
baking and couldn’t wait to eat them all up.
We have been having a great time in camp and cant believe that five weeks
have flown by – we are having so much fun together and look forward to
more fun filled activities next week!

Dear Families,
This week the Prachim were seeing colors. We created art in the style
of Mondrian and placed black rectangles to make borders and then
filled them in with primary colored squares. In baking we made a
rainbow cake. On Thursday the Prachim were seeing orange- we
went all around the building in search of orange puzzle pieces; we
made an orange collage; we frosted cupcakes with orange frosting;
we painted our hands orange (for a camp rainbow).
On Thursday, Morah Marsha surprised us with another visit from the Fun
Bus!
Have a wonderful Shabbat!

This week in D’vorim, we had so much fun in
many different activities! In science, we got to
make our own ice cream and eat it too! In art, we
learned about different artists and made our own
versions of their art. We also celebrated color day-
where we got to wear yellow, make yellow cup-
cakes, a yellow painting, and got to play in the
Fun Bus!
D’vorim
Parparim
This week was full excitement in Parparim. We started off the
week meeting our new science teacher Morah Melissa. She
taught about the wonders of salt! Did you know it can both melt
ice and make it colder!!!! With that in mind she showed us how to make
our very own ice cream! In tennis we practiced our skills handling the
racket and the ball and our hand eye coordination. Soccer too was full of
practicing out skills, we pretended to be zookeepers and the Bronx zoo
and were responsible for herding all the animals back into their
cages!! Baking and Art were all about colors this week preparing for
Thursday's color day. We baked tie dyed cake and cupcake that we
sprayed with our purple frosting spray! In art we learned about Piet
Mondrian who worked mostly with the primary colors red, blue and yel-
low to create geometric designs we also made a purple collage and add-
ed our purple handprints to a camp wide mural! On color day we were
super excited to complete a puzzle piece hunt all over the building! Once
collected our purple puzzle pieces formed a parpar, a butterfly!! We
can't wait to see what's in store for next week!
Dagim
Into week five and on to half number two.
We are having so much fun; there is so much to do.
In gym we learned about basketball, how to dribble, pass, and, shoot.
We did some fun drills where we bounce passed, and dribbled, then back to the beginning of the line we did scoot.
In music we played musical pass the ball around; you did not want the ball when the music stopped. In Kinderdance we did an obstacle course, where we walked like a crab, jumped, and hopped.
In art we made boxes inspired by the artist Piet Mondrian, he liked to paint with primary colors red, yellow, and blue.
In baking we made a tie-dye cake for color day, it is true.
In Ivrit we learned about shapes circle ( egul), triangle (meshulash), and square (rebua).
We then learned about fruits like apple, orange, and pear.
In science we learned about the magic of salt and how it has the power to both melt and freeze. We made our very own delicious ice cream, everyone asked for “seconds please”.
Color day was the best, and the Fun Bus came back.
We all wore green shirts, and made a green cupcake snack.
We would like to wish a big happy birthday to Rakel,
And we will miss you so much to Yael.
Please rest up and relax, week six is on its way.
Have a Shabbat Shalom, we will see you Monday.

Tziporim We welcome Jonathan, our new CIT, who is most eager
to help us all. In Science we made delicious ice cream, lots of
shaking the bag of ice and salt.
In Ivrit we learned the names of shapes in Hebrew.
In Kitchen Creations we made a multi- colored cake and a cream cheese cake
with oreo cookie crumbs as the crust...yum.
Tennis and Super Soccer keep us in practice swinging and kicking the ball. In
Art we followed the style of Mondrian making a collage of colored shapes and
black lines Tziporim wore red shirts for Color Day. Everything we did had the
color red, even our door to the bunk had red streamers and a red balloon. We
made chocolate cup cakes with red icing, a red bird to hang in our room, and put
together a red puzzle after finding
all the pieces around camp.
To end the day the best surprise Fun
Bus was outside. Yeah!

It was another pink-tastic week for the Malkot. As always, the girls had a great
time developing their skills in swimming, soccer and tennis.
Baking and Science were a blast! The Malkot learned how to mix ingredients to
make delicious ice cream which they even got to eat. In baking, we made color-
ful tie dyed cake as well as yummy Oreo cheesecake.
In Ivrit, the girls learned all about numbers and shapes. While in art, the girls dis-
played their artistic side while learning about Piet Mondrian.
Decked out in pink from head to toe for
color day, the girls went on a pink puzzle
search, decorated cupcakes with pink
frosting, created a pink collage and had
an amazing time on the fun bus.
Looking forward to another fun filled
week,

Dear Families,
Color abounded this week in camp! We started of with running around chasing colors in Kinderdance with Ms. Bridget. We helped make colorful cakes cupcakes with Morah Aryn in baking. Art with Morah Simona focused on color collages, colored sand art, and color puzzles. Coach Leora had us running agility color course where the Giborim had to run from color to color and the back again to their team.
We had a blast on Color Day! We ran after missing color pieces, ate colorful snacks, and had an all around blue-tiful day!
In other news, the Giborim are excelling at tennis and love learn-ing all the different swings. Coach Vladimir and coach Jeff in soc-cer are really teaching the Giborim how to maneuver the soccer ball on the court. SwimJim is going swimmingly and the Giborim are swimming more independently each time.
We are so sad to see Sam go and wish him a wonderful rest of the summer. We are happy to say hi to Charlie and can't wait to have fun with him for the rest of the summer!
Shabbat Shalom, Morah Talya, David, Sam, and Charlie
