Decoration Day:
The McMahan cemetery decoration day this year is August 11. The business meeting ofthe McMahan Cemetery Trust Fund will begin at 10 a.m. Come join us for the decorationday and business meeting.
Cemetery Improvements:Improvements to the cemetery over the past year include:
Several of the concrete blocks that marked unknown graves were eitherbroken or had become covered with grass and dirt. We replaced 45 of thesemarkers with larger concrete block markers.
The white posts and cemetery archway sign were repainted.
A No Dumping sign was placed in the back corner of the cemetery to askthat dirt, rocks or other debris are not dumped in that area.

A McMahan Cemetery web site has been created on Facebook. The web address onFacebook for the cemetery is: www.facebook.com/McMahanCemetery The web sitecontains all the information contained in the McMahan Cemetery Directory as well as otherinformation, such as bulletins, obituaries, and a Cemetery Photo Album. We have juststarted building the photo album and encourage anyone that has photographs of familymembers buried at McMahan to submit those to include in the album. The photos can beposted directly to the Facebook web site or you can email them to:[email protected] You can also send pictures to Roger Pelham to be
included in the photo album. Any photos sent to Roger will be scanned into the computerthen mailed back to you. If you email or send photos, please include information aboutwho is included in each picture and the approximate date/year the picture was taken, ifyou know. Wed like to have pictures of everyone buried at McMahan and encourageeveryone to send in pictures.
Burial Plot Fee Change:Reminder that the membership voted to charge a $200 burial plot fee per plot if theindividual does not have a certificate or has not contributed at least $200 to the McMahanCemetery Trust Fund over the years. This change in burial plot fee does not apply to plots
that were already reserved at the time of the fee change vote in 2010.
