Description- A web page designed to showcase a personally created logo.

Objectives- The message I wanted to portray is one of fun professionalism. The Swanky Llama is a fun company! I think the Llama with a bow tie nicelyportrays that. The color scheme also helps make the company and web pageappear cheery and unique.

Process- I created this web page using only TextWrangler. I had never seenor written any HTML/CSS before this project. This was denitely a learningexperience. It was fascinating to see how you could make a web page by only

using a simple text editor. I know understand some of the logistics that go onbehind a nicely designed web page.

After I marked up all my content and inserted my image, I attached apre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then used the colors from the logo Icreated as the colors for my web page. I found these colors by using the eye-dropper tool in photoshop. I also changed my fonts to Times New Roman andArial Unicode MS. I created some backup fonts so the webpage is usable ondifferent browser and computers. I used padding around the logo and text so

it didn’t get too close to the end of the page.

Description- Part of a matching letterhead and business card designed using

    a personally created logo

Objectives- I wanted to create a fun business card that showed up off actional company.

Process- I created a logo using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I created thelogo using the pen tool in Illustrator. I then used InDesign to arrangeeverything and add the text. I opened a new two page InDesign documentand placed my logo .AI le into this document.

The rst page is a letterhead for the company I created. It’s called The SwankyLlama. I nd the name quite amusing. It’s a men’s formal wear company. Ipositioned the letter head .5 of an in away from the edge of the paper and leftplenty of room for anything that will be printed on the page.

Description- Logo for a local design company

Objectives- I wanted to convey the message of design should be kept simple. This company can help you with that!

Process- I loved working with Abobe Illustrator on this project! After tryingseveral drafts and ideas, I took a vote on which design was most liked by thepublic. Taking that into consideration, I created several new variations of thedesign that I like most. I edited the typography and font choices, making oneof the fonts bold and italized for contrast. I used the pen tool to create a

simple banner for the logo. I outlined in the same color as the background tomake it more visually appealing.

    Description- A tri-fold brochure

Objectives- Inform students at BYU-Idaho about iTalk

Process- I set up the tri-fold in Adobe InDesign. I split my layout into threesections. I used the color teal throughout the brochure to create repetitionand ow. I deliberately chose photos with neutral and teal shades to createunite all the photos with the rest of the design.

For the cut out image of the young man speaking at a podium I used the‘quick selection tool’ in Adobe Photoshop to remove the background of theimage. I then used the ‘rene mask’ dialogue box to smooth, feather, shiftedge and apply contrast to the outline of the amingo. The changes I made inthe ‘rene mask’ dialogue box made a softer image that didn’t look so sharpand cutout against the brochure’s background. I then ‘placed’ the young maninto InDesign where I used the ‘text wrap’ option to wrap my text around the‘alpha channel’ of the image.

I created the logo in Illustrator using the pen tool and then I placed it intoInDesign.

Description- This is a ier I created using Adobe Indesign. This project had

several specications, including using certain images and specic information.I wanted a simple, yet eye-catching, design that emphasized the formality ofthe event.

Objectives- The message of this poster is emphasized through bold type andcontrasting elements. Things like the title and photo are emphasized. The titlewas placed near the photo to create a focal point on the poster.

Process- I began by sketching several possible ideas for the project. After

getting feedback and reviewing the ideas, I selected my favorite design. Thedesign was created in Adobe InDesign. I utilized the FOCUS principles tocreate a visually pleasing and easily readable design. It clearly relates to theaudience, the message is clear, and there’s enough contrast to keep it inter-esting.
