FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear Friend, What a tremendous honor it is to announce our McKendree Presents season for 2013-14. For eight years it has been my privilege to announce the new schedule. This brochure is the culmination of a process that began last fall. We search for artists, work the phones, sweat over the calendar and try to bring you a season that will excite and inspire. This year’s season will deliver some eye-popping spectacles (MOMIX, Thodos Dance Co., Intergalactic Nemesis), world famous musicians (Doc Severinsen and John Pizzarelli) and just plain fun (Blues Brothers Revue). The Hett remains Southern Illinois’ premiere performing arts space. It is remarkable both for its acoustics and its intimacy. McKendree Presents offers world-class performers at affordable prices. Is it any wonder that last year we had 11 sell-outs (five within the first 24 hours of going on sale)? If you are already a patron, thank you for your support. If you are considering visiting the Hett for the first time–welcome! Come on in. The show’s about to start. Sincerely,
Peter J. PalermoDirectorRussel E. and Fern M. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts
