C an you believe fall is alreadyhere, and that means theholidays are right around the

corner! This year, I’d like to ask all ofyou at MCC to give to those in need.Throughout the month of October, wewill have food bank boxes available inthe Restaurant to collect donations.The non-perishable food items will go

to our local St. Joseph Center Food Bank to helpfeed the hungry through the winter. Let’s startdonating now before we all get too busy with theholiday hustle and bustle!

I’d like to say thank you to everyone who cameto all three of our poolside barbecues. I look forwardto making these events fun for the whole family withnew entertainment and delicious food in 2016! Wehad a number of other fun events in September aswell, so check out the pictures from Karaoke and 60’sNight featuring The Beatles! We also celebrated RoshHashanah and Yom Kippur with a big beautiful Buffet(remember next year we will celebrate with the mealon Rosh Hashanah – October 4, 2016).

Get signed up now for one of the CPR /AEDtraining classes this month in the Galaxy Room at7:30 p.m. on October 5th and October 19th. Eachclass is taught by Linda Radelle of On Site CPR andwill cover CPR for infants, children and adults, theHeimlich maneuver, and use of the AED. This life-saving class is only $20 per person ($35 for couples)payable in cash, please. RSVP with Rose at 310-578-4984.

We have a lot of fun awaiting you in theRestaurant this month with two big parties! Makereservations now for Oktoberfest with a buffet full oftraditional German fare and entertainment by TheBluebirds German-American Showband. Then we’llclose out October with our Halloween Masqueradeon Friday, October 30th featuring music by the RayBandini Revue and a “Bloody-good” buffet! Makereservations early, as we will have a packed house!!And on a quieter side, Reba Merrill will present herinterviews and stories behind the scenes with some ofHollywood’s biggest leading ladies on October 7th inthe Galaxy Room at 7:30 p.m.; be sure to takeadvantage of our Early Bird specials before the show!

Fier. Congrats go to Karen Dixon &Gordana Perlof as the 2015 DoublesFinalists. Both teams battled throughthe round robin division and met inthe finals on court 1 on a very hotMonday morning. The match hadsome great points and was played ina very sporting manner. In the end,Maryella & Barb prevailed 6-0, 6-2 towin the title and bragging rights forthe next year, when no doubt,dozens of teams will come out tocontest for the title.
