Knanaya Young Family Forum started the 2015 summeractivities by gathering at the Glenview park for a one day picnicon May 23rd, 2015. This was a fun filled event with manyactivities for couples and kids. There were a total of 25 familiesattended the picnic and everyone had a chance to meet andenjoyed barbecue, and games. Towards the end, Co-Chair MattVilangattusseril thanked everyone and the picnic co-ordinatorsSebil Nediyakala and Anoop Ozhungalil for conducting asuccessful picnic.KCS President Jose Kaniyaly and TreasurerStephen Kizhakkekuttu also attended the picnic. The forumdecided to organize a one day couples only trip to Indiana beachon July 18th, Saturday for a jet ski ride and other fun stuffs. SuniPadinjarekkara, KCS executive, KCYL executive, andYuvajanavedhi executive gathered around to do thetraditional lighting of the lamp. The night continued withvarious speeches spoken by,Fr. Suni Padinjarekkara KCSpresident Jose Kaniyaly, KCYL president ShawnMullappallil, and Yuvajanavedhi president JibitKizhakkekuttu. Immediately following the meeting,members of KCYL and Yuvajanavedhi put together a nightof talented performances.

During this night where the Knanaya Youth was able toshowcase their talent, a graduation ceremony was held forthe graduates of 2015. The highest ACT scorers,VanessaIndikuzhy and Jerry Idiyali were recognized for theiracademic achievement.

The MC’s for the event were Jeevan Thottickattu and JeslinMuriparampil. Both youth sub organizations were broughttogether under KCS executive members Jose Kaniyaly, RoyNedumchira, Jeeno Kothaladiyil, Sunny Idiyalil, and StephenKizhakkekuttu. On June 21, KCYL and KCS Sports Forum conducted a

basketball tournament. There were two tournaments that

took place, High school and up as well as 12 and under.

The under league consisted of 4 teams whereas, high

school and up had 11. Fr. Suni Padinjarekkara inaugurated

the tournament. Fr. Suni distributed the trophies to first

and second place (kna mambas and Sacred Heart

Warriors) of the kids tournament. KCLYNA chaplain Rev.

Dr. Mathew Manakkatu was the chief guest for the closing

ceremony. In a very close game, Roshon Muringothu,

Alvin Nella, Xaiver Mannappil, Patrick Nedumackal, Justin

Nella Jason Assarikutt, and Jeno James won first place

for the older league. In second place was Chris

Mercy in the finals for the older league making them the

winners for the past two years. This day was dedicated

to the youth. It allowed them to come out and enjoy the

game. We thank all players for their hard work as well as

the parents for their great support throughout the night.
