Dear Parish Family: On January 10th and 11th, your vestry convened at Honey Creek to get to know one another, be formed for 2o2o, and to refine our energy to 3 specific areas of emphasis. At the bottom is a summary of the strengths of this group. Since every group is different, it was important to get to know where the energy and passion was concentrated in the 2o2o class. And then, with the help of a great consultant, Walter Hobgood, to see where these strengths lined up with Fr. Alan's and reflected the energy we felt in the parish. We are so excited to begin working to build on the incredible foundation laid by previous vestries and are thankful for the hard work and dedication offered by Jonathan Havens, Ava Bokker, Brooks Thompson, (plus Jeff Marks and Tess Stuermer) in 2o19. Sincerely, Mike Parrish, Ralph Dembowczyk, and Rosalind Crowder Communications Team 2o2o

Food for Homeless Veterans
Mike Williams of Holy Nativity and his organization GY6 Inc. work with the homeless veterans in our community. Mike estimates that there are at least 85 homeless vets in Glynn county. The first thing they do in the morning is to start looking for food. He will be doing a count of the
homeless vets in March. Our Backpack Team would like for him to be able to give each one a bag of food similar to the bags we deliver to the children at Burroughs Mollette. During the month of February we are asking the parish to bring the following items for the bags:
Vienna sausage Peanut butter Cheese crackers Granola bars Pork and Beans Individual packs of Kleenex Small individually wrapped candy bars
And checks will do just fine too. Just make the check out to St. Mark’s and put For food for homeless vets.

the garden ladies, is also a talented pianist. Linda
would like to share her 30 years of teaching and

During our December meeting we bid farewell to our President Jane Lafferty who moved to Atlanta. In January we are pleased to announce that Charlotte Mullikin has agreed to become the ECW President. Charlotte has a long history of leadership in ECW and in her Guild. The members of ECW were saddened by the deaths of two of our members. Jan Clay was a member of St. Mary’s Guild and The Daughters of the King and Carole Howell who was a member of St. Margaret’s. Christmas is always a busy time. St. Agnes had their Christmas party on December 19th and prepared shoeboxes for the Seafarer’s. Twenty-one St. Mary’s Guild members had their first meeting of 2020 on January 15th and welcomed two guests, one who plans to join! They voted to make a donation to the National Ataxia Foundation in memory of their member Jan Clay. They voted to help the Brotherhood by making brownies for their Low Country Boil in February and also voted to host the second Lenten Supper on March 11th.
St. Margaret’s Guild hosted the reception for the funeral of Carole Howell and helped with the greening of the church. The Altar Guild beautifully decorated the church for the Christmas season, The Greening was very suc-cessful, and they are preparing for Lent and Easter. January brings a new year and our ECW was very busy with several celebrations. The Daughters of the King are planning for the Lenten Service of Lights. During the Lenten season members of the Guilds and other groups will be serving a simple supper after the Wednesday Service of Lights. The representatives of the organizations represented by ECW meet on the 2nd Monday of every month at 11:00 on the parish hall. The next meeting will be on February 10. All are welcome to attend.
The Giving Garden
It has been an exciting couple of weeks since the article about the St Mark’s Brubaker Giving Garden appeared in the Brunswick News! We feel very blessed the author captured our message so completely! Since then, several avenues of opportunity have opened and our new website will launch soon! It will be a teaching-training website which will reflect what we are accom-plishing in our garden and help teach other parishes and organizations to begin their own Giving Gardens. We are excited to share God’s handiwork with all of you and ask that you pray for our ability to meet its challenges. God is so good!
