STEWARDSHIP OF COMMUNICATION: Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone who just doesn’t get what you are saying? Have you ever been at a loss to understand what someone else means by what they say? Like the ancient builders of the legendary tower of Babel, we struggle to communicate because we are fallen people. When the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples at Pentecost, they were able to communicate with everyone, regardless of language. Failure to communicate can be a sign that we are not letting the Holy Spirit guide our speak-ing and our listening. When misunderstandings occur, let us take our miscommunication to prayer before doing anything else.

PENTECOST SUNDAY: Often known as the Birthday of the Church, Pentecost is one of the most dramatic manifestations of the Holy Spirit in Sa-cred Scripture. Today the color red is abundant in our midst, a sign of our joy in the Holy Spirit on this Pentecost Sunday. Red, being a flame color , re-

minds us of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples in the form of tongues of fire. The Holy Spirit that came up-on the disciples is the same Spirit given sacramentally to us at Confirmation. Pentecost is the birthday of the Church, but in a sense, it is also a feast day for all who have been sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit as they were confirmed. So on the feast of Pentecost, it is good to reflect on the role of the Spirit in our lives, and on how the fruits of the Spirit en-rich our lives and make it possible for us to be followers of Jesus. If you were baptized Catholic and have not yet been confirmed or if you believe that the Holy Spirit may be call-ing you to learn more about the Catholic Church, please contact Marilyn Cozzi at 859-331-4302, ext.37, , or [email protected]

BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH PRAYER LIST: If you would like the BSC community to pray for an intention, please call the Parish Of-fice, 859-331-4302. We will add your intention to the list. The names of

those for whom we are praying will appear in the weekly bulletin unless you request otherwise.

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY: Our doors are open! We are a community! “Physical distance” does not have to equal “social distance.” We can safely welcome one an-other. As the weather warms, we’re look-

ing for parishioners willing to come to mass 15 minutes ear-ly to prop open a door, stand six feet from it, and extend Christian hospitality to everyone who enters. This is an out-door activity, and safety protocols will be observed. Masks are required. For more information, contact the parish of-fice: 331-4302. All are welcome!

We mourn the loss of Kimberly DeRosa who was buried

from our Church this past week. Eternal rest grant unto

her Oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May

she rest in peace. Please keep

Kimberly and her family in your

thoughts and prayers.

ROSARY ON THE LAWN... “’And there appeared to Him an an-gel from heaven strengthening Him.’Luke22:43... And now, what was this operation of the angel? We may believe that to encourage Jesus to drink His chalice, to accept the woeful conditions of our redemption, and to satisfy for us the Divine Jus-tice, the angel displayed to Him as in an ideal vision the magnificent har-vest of souls made fruitful by His blood; the glory, the blessed ness, the holiness of His Church; the graces, the merits, the beauty, the ineffable blissfulness of Mary, His Mother, whom He loved to this point that for her alone, to have her and to give Himself to her in heaven, He would have undergone with delight all the tortures of His passion.” (Rev. J. M. Lelen, Ph.D. , Towards The Taber-nacle) Hence, “Jesus meets His Mother on the way...” of the cross. ...as the Angelus Bells toll at 6:00, every Sunday through Thursday in May.

ATTENTION ALL EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS AND LECTORS: Fr . Hils and Fr . Augustine request your presence at a brief training session on Wednesday, June 2nd at 7:00pm in the Church. We appreciate your Stewardship to the Parish. Call the Parish Office with any questions 859-331-4302. Thank you!!
