file for accuracy before releasing it to the client. Clients also have the opportunity to provide

How Rev Ensures the Greatest Value

First and foremost, Rev believes in providing the best service possible and ensuring that service is both

accessible for all users and simple to understand. We’re not in the business of high costs and hidden fees.

Rev has developed the scale and infrastructure that allows us to provide high quality services at a fixed flat

rate of $1 per minute regardless of the number of speakers, quality of audio, or type of content.

In addition to high quality and low cost, Rev:

• provides customers the ability to create teams within their Rev accounts. A team's account manager

can invite colleagues to his/her account whereby these colleagues are able to place their own

orders. This gives customers the ability to independently place orders within their teams while

consolidating billing and order information.

• All Rev customers have access to our free web-based editors in which they can make additional

customizations to their transcript or caption files like changing speaker names, find & replace, and

sharing within teams.

• No other vendor is able to process the volumes of transcription/caption requests that we are. For

example, we are the only vendor that was able to caption Amazon's entire back catalog, and we

did this twice.

• We don’t charge fees for additional services that many of our competitors do. Audio/video with

poor audio quality, multiple speakers, accents, industry-specific jargon is all covered in our $1/min

pricing.

• We don't ever lock customers into contracts. Use Rev as much or as little as needed, and only pay

for work delivered.

• We maintain the highest levels of security. All customer data is encrypted as rest and in-transit.

Communications between you and Rev servers are encrypted via industry best-practices (HTTPS

and Transport Layer Security 1.2). TLS is also supported for encryption of emails.

• Rev follows best practices handling personally identifiable information (PII) with guidance from

the published General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

• We have a strict 99% accuracy policy. We maintain this through strict vetting of transcriptionists

(we accept less than 10% of applicants) and a rigid QA process. If any file does not meet

this standard, we will re-do it at no additional cost.



• We give customers the ability to rate their completed files. Any transcriptionist who receives a

poor rating on a file can never work on that customer's orders again.

• In addition to our human transcription service, we also provide customers the option to order an

automated transcript for just $0.10 per minute. While the accuracy of these transcripts is not as

high as our human transcription service, these files are returned in a matter of minutes.

• Rev gives customers the ability to integrate with cloud based storage platforms and FTP

(e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) so that they can easily place orders with Rev without

ever leaving their existing suite of tools.

Rev believes in providing great quality and fast turnaround without gouging the customer with

exorbitant prices. Because of this, our standard turnaround time is 24 hours at a flat rate of

$1.00/minute. We just released a Rush turnaround option in Q1 2019 for files that require an even

faster turnaround time.

Though our quoted turnaround time is 24 hours, Rev usage history for the past 12 months shows

we consistently can deliver files less than 60 minutes in duration back to the customer within an

8 hour period. Because we utilize a 100% human based service, we may experience limited

outliers outside of this window.

We ensure 99% accuracy through multiple procedures starting with our Revver network. To ensure

the best quality, we ensure only the best transcriptionists/captionists are hired. Less than 10% of all applicants are hired. Once hired, Revvers undergo a rigorous training process to further

hone Revver skillset. In addition to a high quality Revver workforce, we add multiple

layers of automated checks and tools to further increase Revver quality, as well as check for

mistakes, misspellings, grammar, and other identified pitfalls. Once completed, work is sent

through our senior Revver team for an additional QA review before being okayed for customer

delivery. Rev's Revver network has over 20,000 highly vetted transcriptionists/captionists, each

with their own specialization and distinct skill set that ensure Rev is able to handle

specialized jargon and otherwise difficult files.

Once a file is delivered, clients have the ability to rate the quality of work. If a file is rated three

or less, the Revver is barred from ever working with the client again and a rating of one star

automatically triggers additional QA review from our team.

Rev Confirms that client will be notified immediately through the email on file within the three-

day turnaround window should a file be deemed unworkable. Rev will not return work to a client

that is deemed poor quality, however, we may have to cancel jobs if it is deemed unworkable. If

that should be the case, the client is alerted via the user email that the file quality is too poor to

complete. This is exceptionally rare, however, our return rate on all files received is only 0.14%

Speaker Name Change

Need to make quick edits to the speaker names? Simply hover over the speaker name and click on the edit

icon. You can make either changes to a specific name or apply the changes to all the names in the entire

transcript.

Custom Start Time

We also understand our customer’s need to adjust the transcript timecode to match the burnt-in timecode

for ease of video editing and production. For timestamp customers who want to set a new start time in the

transcript, we offer an offset feature. Customers can easily customize their timecodes by setting a new

Notes

Oftentimes, customers want to make some notes about their transcript without making any edits to the

actual transcript text. To make this easier, we’ve added a notes box at the right side of every transcript

where teams can add comments. Many customers use the notes feature to:

• Make comments about important sections of the transcript

Hotkeys

We understand our customers’ need to quickly navigate the transcript along with the media player and we

help support that with hotkeys. With hotkeys that enable play, pause, and skip back in the media player,

Ratings

It’s important that every customer is satisfied with the output of their transcript. We encourage our

customers to take advantage of our star rating request and open feedback box upon review of every

transcript to let us know how we’re doing and give us an opportunity to take action if any issues are

present.

Our customizable download feature gives customers the freedom to get their transcript in the format they

Captions:

Using our captions tools, customers can login, locate any completed caption file, and launch the CPEdit tool. Within the tool, customers can:

• Preview their caption files as it would appear on a video player. • Make adjustments. Customers can edit the spelling, grammar, timing, and display of

captions. • Save any edits made to a version you control. • Apply various post-processing modifications. • Select from a variety of output formats and immediately download.

Our aim is to consciously expand our value to customers. We have built the CPEdit tool to simplify using captions and enable easy adjustments that better match their need. At Rev, we guarantee 99% accuracy for our video captioning service, but we understand that as a

customer, you may want to make small modifications to files before pushing them live. These

modifications include editing the timing of captions so they appear on-screen longer, as well as fixing the

spelling of complicated names or highly-technical jargon. You may also want a simple way to preview the captions on your videos.

With these workflow preferences in mind, our team built a robust captions editor that Rev customers have

free access to. We plan to use feedback to constantly improve the editor over time, but we’ll walk you

We’ve incorporated basic features into the captions editor such as draggable timing adjustments, editable

caption groups, spell check, and find and replace to make proofreading easier and faster. We’ve also built

in some pretty cool advanced features that are outlined below.

Automated Features

There are many common changes that Rev customers routinely make. We’ve automated these changes to

be “single-click” to save you time:

formats like Facebook-ready .srt files that are automatically named according to Facebook’s naming

requirements.

Sharing Capabilities

If someone else needs to edit your captions, you can use the “share” feature to provide them with a link to

access your captions and the editor. They’ll have editing access to that video only.

Today, premium streaming services have increasingly high standards on captions and subtitles. There’s no room for sub-par captions.
