Highlights from April’s Exall Park Volunteer Day
50 VOLUNTEERS Close to 50 volunteers showed up to work, including several new residents.
200 PLANTS We planted over 200 new plants, mulched each new bed, and added a fresh coat of paint to our light poles around the walking trail.
50 HAMBURGERS The Hamburger Man served 50 delicious hamburgers, and we had tasty cupcakes and cookies to finish off our festive lunch.
1 AWARD Ms. Sandy Knauer was honored as a “Lifetime Friend of Exall Park” for her many contributions to the park and community.
The Friends of Exall Park want to extend a huge THANK YOU to those who volunteered and invite the community to come out and enjoy Exall Park.

April showers brought May flowers, and those flowers are particularly beautiful at 1520 Spenwick! May’s Yard of the Month was cared for by Gaye Maris. She has lived in Bryan Place for 11 years now. Gaye loves planting flowers each year but said that even she was pleasantly surprised by just how lush and colorful her perennials turned out this season.
Her flower bed brightens the neighborhood with its pink and purple hues. The large Snap Dragons draw your eye immediately before following the Creeping Phlox across the stone wall to the sweet turtle statues set out as the finishing touch! While Gaye’s cheerful front yard is sure to put a smile on your face, her favorite flowers, Cone Flowers and Zinnias, are growing in her prized back yard. It’s worth strolling a little slower past this house this month, so you can fully appreciate all of the sights and smells this garden has to offer!
