Becoming A Flower Of God

I grew up with the saying, “April showers bring May flowers”. Inter-estingly enough in Texas that is a relatively true statement. I cannot help but also see the correlation between the rains, sun and flowers and Lent, Easter and new Spiritual growth.

I spent a great deal of time during Lent talking to you about the need to embrace the Lenten season. That without Lent, Easter would be lacking. Then at Easter, we celebrated, proclaiming “Alleluia, Christ Has Risen”. Lent is the rain that waters our life. Sometimes it is a downpour and the result is muddy ground that al-most seems useless, but nevertheless, it has been watered and not with that chlorinated water from the tap, this is good, natural rain, full of minerals and sent from Heaven. Easter is the sun (ok, literally the Son) and it/He brings warmth and awakens our soul to the new day. Jesus Christ came not so that we might die, but so that we might live and live in a new life with Him.

The rains have come and watered us, the Son has come and given us life and now is the season, now is the time to live the life of Christ and present Him to the world as the radiant Son of God and our-selves as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Don’t let the seasons merely pass you by. Don’t let the weeds of life choke out the beauty that has been given to you through the purposeful and gentle changing of the seasons. Go out into the world knowing that you have been redeemed and that you are a new creation in Jesus Christ.

Be glad for the April showers and may they bring forth the beauty of the May flowers.

y seguir a Cristo Resucitado.

“WE ARE A HOSPITAL FOR SINNERS NOT A COUNTRY CLUB FOR SAINTS .”

Sometimes my heart

beats uncontrollably

I feel anxious

can’t think straight

It becomes the perfect time

To rest and think about you

I get easily excited and distracted

And in those moments

Thoughts of you break free

And I am reminded

You are right here with me

Holding my hand

I am alive and well

Thinking about you

I am comforted

Knowing that you

Are thinking of me too
