As God would have it, one of the guards had a friend who was a missionary, and both talked her into carrying Ethan full term and giving him up for adoption. Baby Ethan was adopted by a Christian couple from Oklahoma. Ethan was raised by parents who loved the Lord and by grandparents, who themselves served as missionaries. As early as ten- years-of-age, Ethan knew he had a call on his life to serve Jesus as a missionary. After a few struggles as a teenager, graduation from Teen Challenge, and completion of the Perspectives course, hosted by Globe International, Ethan has identified a definitive call to reach the people of his heritage, and begin a work to the Burmese culture. TRAINING • SENDING • SERVING What a blessing it is to see the Kingdom of God advanced throughout the world on a daily basis. As Dawn and I joined the Globe International Leadership Team this past September, little did we conceive just how much growth was taking place within Globe. Each day we are excited to see new opportunities arise for world-wide ministry, discipleship, church planting, leadership training, internships, ministry partner relationships, and so much more. And above it all, we are seeing the fulfillment of the Great Commission celebrated on a far greater scale.

Globe International is not only serving our veteran missionaries more effective than ever before, we are also experiencing an influx of new missionary interns from across the nation and the world. Dawn and I have the privilege of working with young (and also not-so-young) people who are connecting with Globe for training through our various streams of preparatory learning. One track for training is the Perspectives Course on the World Christian Movement, which is currently hosted by Globe International at three Gulf Coast locations. This year, under the leadership of Danny and Judy Armstrong, Globe saw seventeen area churches represented during the fifteen week, college level course. The largest single class to ever graduate from Globe received their certificates on May 3, 2016.

One of this year’s graduates, who we have had the opportunity to work with and bring into the Globe International family, is Ethan Fontanez.

Ethan’s personal story is quite impacting and it is a beautiful example of what you are helping to accomplish through your partnership with us.

Ethan was born in a Bangkok refugee prison. After his parents fled to Thailand, escaping war-torn Burma (Myanmar), his father died of malaria, and his mother was arrested while already pregnant with Ethan. His mother’s decision was to abort him, rather than have him born into the darkness of the prison.

As early as ten-years-of-age, Ethan knew he had a call on his life to serve Jesus as a missionary. After a few struggles as a teenager, graduation from Teen Challenge, and completion of the Perspectives course, hosted by Globe International, Ethan has identified a definitive call to reach the people of his heritage, and begin a work to the Burmese culture. Ethan will soon attend a Globe Missionary Orientation, and start on his path to plant the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the hearts of Myanmar. Dawn and I are so excited to help Ethan take his initial steps toward fulfilling his heart’s cry for his people.

Currently, I say this about 200 times a day as a client service agent. It’s what I do. Funny, how I do this in the natural, but it is mirrored in the supernatural. It’s what I have grown up doing. It comes so very natural. I’m a “fixer” as they say. If something is out of place, or you need something, I want to fix it; almost to a fault. As Scott and I accepted our position with Globe as Directors of Church Relationship & Recruitment, we knew emphatically that this is what God would have us to do next. Serving international ministers has been an enormous part of our lives, and we endeavor to see them fulfilled and prospering. I’m continually thinking, “What can I do to make what they do easier?” It is what we believe we are called to do. To equip the saints, in whatever manner needed. But we can’t do it alone and we invite you to join us in assisting them. Missionaries reach people that we can never touch, but they can’t do it all by themselves. That is where you and I come in - We all need to be on mission - Doing what we do best in Serving, Sending, and Training, so that the nations will know the promises of Jesus. One of the ways that Scott and I are serving Globe and its missionaries is to expand the capabilities of the organization into a wider array of church relationships. This creates not only a greater opportunity for unified partnership, but also a developmental platform for new missionary training and missionary interns. Very recently we have helped to establish a Globe International footprint in the greater Orlando, Florida area. Partnering with our friends Pastor Sean and Maria LaGasse, with Next Community Church in Winter Garden, Florida, a door has been opened to a multi-cultural community ready to see God’s plan accomplished throughout the earth. During the last several weeks at Next Community Church, Sandy Britnell has shared on behalf of Globe and her ministry in Nicaragua on one occasion, then we joined Bob and Melissa Hill to talk about Overtoun House in Scotland and the future plans for Globe International in Orlando area churches. Much is happening in expansion of abilities for Globe to train, send, and serve missionaries through the opening of the J. Robert Bishop

Launch Center in Pensacola, intern training and recruitment on a broader scale, and ever increasing excellence of serving our long-time ministries globally. You may be asking yourself, “How can I get involved with God’s plan for the world? What’s my role in building His Kingdom across the earth? What can I do from my own home, church, or business?” I am glad you have asked, because there is a WHOLE LOT that you can do from right where you are now. There is an old Chinese proverb that says, “Hearing something one-hundred times is never as good as seeing once.” I challenge you to see what God is doing today across the world, and also see your part in it. Don’t let us merely tell you about it. Please remember our position at Globe is not a paid postion, so Scott and I cherish your continued partnership as we proclaim the Good News through our role at Globe International, and we desire you to see your place in His plan. So let’s talk about it! I mean really, let’s talk about it. Please reach out to us by phone, Skype, email, or other, and together we can explore the possibilities of getting behind one or more of the activities at Globe International. You might want to add one of our new interns to your prayer list, become a verbal advocate for one of a growing array of international projects, or even consider a short-term trip to visit a viable on-going work with a Globe missionary. Scott and I want to see you fulfilled as well in the great missionary plan of the Messiah...So Let’s Talk!

Blessings!

Scott & Dawn
