Newsletter Editor: Eileen Housfeld May, 2016 Email: [email protected] MDMDC Newsletter A monthly publication of the recent activities and upcoming events of the Mount Diablo Metal Detecting Club The May MDMDC monthly club meeting had a total of 22 attendees. Secretary’s Report – 2016 dues are now due. Treasurer’s Report – There is $2,500 in the treasury. Vice President’s Report – There was no report. The attendance ticket winners were Zeke Schnapp and James Lind. Lee Sheppard won the Silver Dime Raffle. Announcements – Beginning in July we will return to the Water District building and the meeting date will change from the second Wednesday to the second Tuesday. The meeting time will remain the same at 7:30 p.m. Old Business – The Maxi Hunt will be held on June 26 th at Baldwin Park in Concord, CA. The cost will be $35. The club will donate $250. It will begin at 10 a.m. There will be gold and silver prizes. The hunt is open only to club members who are current in their dues. A potluck will follow the hunt. No Big Feet or large coils will be allowed. The top prize is a Garrett underwater pinpointer. Second prize is a metal detector with two coils. New Business – There will be no blind camp this year. We hope to participate next year. The raffle prizes were provided by Ken Housfeld. They included a 1/20 th ounce gold coin, silver dollars, half dollars, and other silver coins. Mini-hunt report: The April hunt was held in Moraga Commons and run by Gary Collier. The May mini hunt will be held on June 6 th . We will meet at the Jack in the Box on Mt. Diablo Blvd in Lafayette and leave at 10:00 a.m. The hunt will be run by Miles Maynard and Gary Collier.
