Please note that at Atkinsons we pride ourselves on being honest, with this in mind, we would like to point out that timber is a natural product and it can split, warp, shrink and expand. All these characteristics are normal and in no way affect the longevity of the product. Wax coat or Restol can be applied onto timber and this will give some protection against cracking and splitting. In the event of a proven manufacturing defect, the Company’s or Sellers total liability shall under no circumstances exceed the price of the timber. The Company or Seller shall not in any way be responsible for additional consequential costs or losses. Colours may vary from photos and production batches. Most of our fencing is manufactured to order and so are non-returnable, please ask for details. Pressure treated timber will need to be maintained.
Our History
For over 50 years Atkinsons have been manufacturing fencing and timber products and in that time have earned an enviable reputation for the quality and service they provide. Founded by George Atkinson who began by selling reclaimed timber and firewood the company has transformed into one of the largest independent fencing manufacturers in the Uk with a work force of up to 100

All our products are made in house at our 3 acre Castleford factory site and our sheds and garden buildings are manufactured at our South Milford branch. We also pressure treat all our products on site which ensures every product we sell will stand the test of time. Our unique design offers a varied choice and we are constantly adding new products to the range.Due to the fact that we have the ability to manufacture on a large scale you will find our prices very very competitive and our quality second to none. Please see our customer comments throughout this brochure.We have also been granted FSC approval which further demonstrates our commitment to the environment and ensuring the quality of our products and the sustainability of the timber we use.
Fitting Service
We not only manufacture we also offer a full fitting service, all our men are directly employed ensuring that our customers have the backing and expertise that only Atkinsons can offer. A dedicated surveyor can plan and oversee your required project ensuring that everything is done to the highest standard. All of our teams are fully insured and old fencing is removed from site at no extra cost, recycling it to further protect the environment

All dipped buildings are pre-treated in a water based solution, however to extend the life of your shed we recommend that you treat them again within 3 months of erecting and yearly thereafter. As wood is a natural product some expansion and shrinkage can occur. This is not something we can prevent.
BASE PREPERATION
When buying any garden building it is necessary to construct a base for your building to be erected onto. As long as it is level and firm it will be suitable. This can be constructed from concrete slabs or by using tanalised floor bearers in the opposite direction to the floor joists which always run front to back.
