A note from the Editor..... I hope you had a wonderful Easter, it seems so long ago already with the hustle and bustle of daily life,. I heard someone say recently “You may have just begun your walk with Jesus, or you may have been a Christian for a Long time........But you know what? .....You don’t have to stay there!” and it got me thinking, that’s what so great about out journey with God,: it is never stationery it is al-ways on the move, always a new direc-tion, always learning more, growing with faith and being renewed, God stays the same, but our path, purpose and vision is ever changing. In this issue we are thinking about Gods Promises to us, and though sometimes we do not know Gods plans, we must embrace his promise, whatever the storm or situation: For in Jeremiah 29:11 it says “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
As we prepare to see the sad closure of Parkeston Methodist Church. Let us pray, that we can show that the Church is not a building, but a community. That God, will help us be the difference here; becoming missionaries in our town. So that the closure of chapels in our area won’t close hearts.. But bring revival, renewal and new life. To not just stay where we are, on our journey, but to walk forward with God, into the hearts of all we meet.
Christian Greetings

FEATURE: Dovercourt Stoke Group We have been running for just
over two years at the Central
Church hall. Group members
come and go but we always wel-
come new members .
The Dovercourt group meets on
Wednesday and Thursday from
9.30 - 12.30pm. Apart from the
ladies who ‘do’, we play various
games and we are encouraged to
make things, create things includ-
ing painting and drawing.
These are all things to help our
hands. We usually begin our ses-
sions with a quiz, which is obvi-
ously an encouragement for our
brain power.
Above all is the comradely shown
by each and every member to-
wards one another as we sip our
welcome refreshments, i.e.: tea,
coffee and biscuits. Finally to
bring us all to the close of session
we have ‘armchair’ exercises.
Session done, time for home.
Good value all agreed for £3.50
There are vacancies on Wednes-
days for new members
Central Church in our Community Our Church facilities supports our

ments and stalls for Cakes, Bric-a-

TIME OUT— Music to have a listen to....
Prayerful Parenting
If you love the style of Mumford
and Sons, you must check out
Rend Collective Experiment!
Especially their new album
Campfire. Which was re-
corded live around a campfire
with a vision to create an album
that represents the greatest com-
munity on earth, the church! A
particular favourite is “You are
my Vision” a modernised version
of Be Thou my Vision and
“Desert” Soul. Have a listen to-
day look them up on You Tube.
3 Biblical Virtues to Pray for Our Children 1. Salvation— “Father may salva-
tion spring up in our children
that they may obtain the salva-
tion of Christ Jesus.” (Isa 45:8 2
Tim 2:10)
2. Grow in Grace— “May our
children grow in the grace and
knowledge of our Lord and sav-
iour Jesus Christ”(2 Peter 3:18)
3. Love— “May our children learn
to live a life of love, through the
spirit who dwells in them” (Gal
5:25, Eph 5:2)
Raising Children has never been
an easy task. Especially when
life isn’t going as planned.
As we struggle over the piles of
toys, run around after the demand-
ing schedules, clean, work and the
rest of it, trying to fit God in
seems like an impossible task!
But prayer is a powerful tool to
parents, taking time out to be still
and know that God is with you, he
will guide you. Let him fill you
daily with the fruits of the spirit,
(love, joy, peace, patience, kind-
ness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentle-
ness, and self control)
for in the midst of the
tantrum we all need
an extra dose.
Take time our today to meditate
on this verse:
“Train up a Child in the way he
should go, and when he is old he
will not depart from it”
Proverbs 22:6
Never underestimate the power of
prayer for you and your children.
