The Royal Hospitality Group has
launched a new event ticket website to
make buying sports, concert or theater
tickets even easier and less expensive.
And access to the website is an added
benefit of your Royal Country Clubs
Membership! Search, Shop and Com-
pare ticket prices for any entertain-
ment event you are considering, but
please check out our own event ticket-
ing website before you buy. If you do,
you will often find the exact same
tickets you are looking at on StubHub
or other ticketing sites for a lower
price. And, there is never a conven-
ience charge surprise when you get
ready to check out! Take a look next
time you are thinking of buying tick-
ets and feel free to share the site with
your friends and family!
ClubHub is a service provided by the
Royal Hospitality Group to allow our
members with extra event tickets to
offer them to the other members of the
clubs. The sellers set the prices, RHG
facilitates the sale, and the transaction
is handled through your monthly club
bill. This is a service that we provide
at no charge for our members. To sell
tickets, just e-mail or call Chuck
Mycoff and I will have your tickets
included in the next ClubHub e-mail.
I can be reached at
312-961-8529.
The Royal Bowlers
The Royal Fox and Royal Hawk just
completed the first season of our
bowling league. We had 8 teams that
bowled once a month all winter. And
we had an equal number of bowlers
from each club participate. In addition
to all of the regular bowlers, we also
had almost as many members partici-
pate as substitutes throughout the sea-
son. Our championship was decided
on the very last night!
Congratulations to our League
Champions for 2011/2012:
1st Place
The Royal Jewels
Ric and Patty Shillingburg
Mike and Mary McNamara
2nd Place
The Striking Pinheads
Keven and Maggie Arnold
Tom and Alicia Haggerty
I look forward to our second season

The 2012 Men’s Match Play boards
have been posted. Please take a look
at the bulletin board outside the golf
shop to size up the competition and set
up your first match. First round
matches must be completed on or be-
fore May 20th.
The Royal Fox Junior Golf Program is
quickly approaching. We have re-
structured the program and incorpo-
rated a PGA family course which the
kids will play every other week
throughout the season. This gives the
kids an opportunity to practice what
they have learned in real life situa-
tions. Junior Golf sign up was on
Wednesday, May 2nd. If you couldn't
attend but would like to sign up your
children please contact the golf shop.
We look forward to a providing a great
program this year!

Royal Hawk Golf Shop News Well it was quite a change from March
to April. It was the first time in 100
years that March average temps were
higher than April's. Let's hope May
starts to bring us some warm weather
and many many golf rounds.
It is GREAT to see all of the new
members we have at The Hawk, let's
show them just how fun The Hawk is
and continue to grow as a club. The
best way to continue to grow is by let-
ting all of your friends outside of the
club know just what they are missing
out on.
We tried to kick off the season with our
Spring Scramble, but due to the
weather we were unable to host it on
Saturday, April 28. It has been re-
scheduled for Saturday, May 5. Please call the Pro Shop and join in the
fun! Once again we will be allowing
you to bring a prospective member at
no charge other than the cart. This is a
great way to meet fellow members and
future playing partners, so don't miss
out.
The sign up is on the board for our
"new" member event. There has
been some confusion over the event, it
is not just for "new" members, it is
open to all members, it is just a new
event in general. With this particular
event, we need at least 40 players. Let's
get on the horn and find your partner.
It is a two-man scramble format that
will be handicapped. With your entry
fee, you will receive a wedge and a
glove. Everyone wins before they even
tee it up! First place prize is a new set
of irons for each player, followed by
drivers for second and hybrids for
third. Don't miss out on this brand new
event! Guests are welcome for part-
ners!
Match Play pairings are on the board
and ready to be played. All of the
phone numbers are listed on there as
well, so call your opponent and set up
our matches.
Jr Golf sign up is on Tuesday, May 8 from 5pm-7pm at the Hawk. You
will want to come by to sign your chil-
dren up and stay for a family dinner.
There will be clothes, shoes and clubs
for the juniors available for purchase
and ordering. If your schedule does
not allow you to join us that night, just
call us in the shop to get your kids
signed up. This year the program is in
for a major overhaul as it will based on
a lot more fun along with instruction.
The program will need parental assis-
tance to help get the kids to play more
after their sessions. We NEED your
help to make it more successful for the
kids. Games and teams will be a major
focus this year to help make golf more
fun and encourage the kids to really
want to play more golf. There will be
putting games, chipping games, driving
range games, physical fitness and of
course golf instruction. Your child is
welcome to bring a non member friend
along with them to the program. There
will be 4 sessions offered starting at
2:15 and each will be an hour long.
I am looking for couples to take charge
of the Friday Night Couples Events. I
have The Derrico’s in charge of it all
and we need 4 more couples to help
out. You will each pick one Friday
Night Couples Event to be in charge of
and make your event. You will pick
the format and see how big of a turnout
you can get for "Your" event. Call or
email if you are interested. Once we
have five couples, we will all sit down
and discuss the events.

attend I hope you enjoyed yourself and
came away with good feelings about the
coming season.
Plans are already set for Ladies Guest
Day, RALLY FOR A CURE, and Vixen
Chase. Sign up sheets for Guest Day and
Vixen Chase will be posted in the locker
room. Feel free to sign up at your conven-
ience. My thanks to the chairwomen of
these events. A lot of time and energy goes
into the success of these events.
Southwest team play will kickoff with
Royal Fox hosting the ladies of the
Southwest league on May 17. We are in
need of volunteers to work that day for
sign up and to ranger the course. If you are
available for even a part of the day it
would be helpful. Please feel free to call or
email me for more information. Our
Chicago District team also begins their
team play on May 17. Good luck to both
teams.
Stacy Bell will be chairing Ladies Guest
Day this year, and knowing Stacy it will
be a great event. If you would like more
information or would like to help
please contact Stacy.
We will once again be using tee times this
year. Sign up sheets for Tuesday times are
posted on Sunday afternoon. If you have a
tee time that you really want, sign up
early. Please remember to post every
round of golf. If you haven't used the com-
puter or are having trouble the pro shop
will be glad to help you.
In looking forward to a successful season I
want to personally thank everyone who
has stepped up to help us. There is an
incredible amount of work that goes on
behind the scenes. We couldn't do it with-
out you.
In the mean time hit 'em straight and we'll
see you on the course.

Royal Fox Ladies Golf League
Tee To The Green April was not quite like March but it
was still fairly pleasant.
We have had our share of cold frosty
mornings, probably more than the last
couple of years combined.
The cooler weather slowed the growth
of the bent grass turf and the lack of pre-
cipitation has dried the courses out to
extremes. Soon warmer weather will set
in and then we can expect more suitable
growing conditions.
We will be aerifying the golf courses the
next few weeks. We will do our best to
have your golf experience as painless as
possible.
At The Grove we have aerified the
greens a couple of times already with a
twelve inch deep tine machine to break
the heavily compacted soils below.
The greens hold way to much surface
water, lack oxygen below and fail dur-
ing weather stress periods.
We have also implemented a monthly
overseeding program, to improve the
turf cover and encourage better playing
surfaces. This is a "long term" process
so do not expect immediate results.
We want better greens as well as you...
Once again PLEASE !!!! repair your
ball marks and keep the golf cars away
from the green surrounds (Grove).
Thank You !!
