Summary of Club Activities Ed Clerkin

The message will be short this month I am back East for work and will not be at the May meeting I am very concerned about the lack of willingness of the membership to step up and fill 3 key positions Facts are that the President Vice-President and Activities Chair will be stepping down What happens to the club if these positions are not filled Itrsquos up to you Herersquos the info I presented last month President ndash Open Ready to test your leadership abilities This is a great position and very rewarding Vice-President ndash Open No this position does not recommend assorted vices rather this person is responsible for setting up the monthly meetings and coordinating the Christmas and June BBQMembership events Activities ndash Open This is a great position for a couple Respon-sible for planning and coordinating our yearly event schedule You do not have to lead the runs The May meeting is traditionally when we have elections As I write this we are not ready The below job descriptions are excerpted from the Club By-Laws created 562008 mdashmdashmdashmdashmdash- they are included for reference Fred Smith editor Sec 1 The President shall give notice of all regular and special meet-ings to the membership preside over all meetings of the club appoint such Committees as necessary to carry out the activities of the club serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors act as ex-officio member of all committees issue the call for regular and special Board meetings see that regular elections are held in accordance with the clubrsquos Constitution and carry out the directives of the Board of Directors Sec 2 The Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President in his or her absence coordinate the annual June Installation picnic and make arrangements with the restaurant for the monthly meetings Sec 8 The Activities Director shall be responsible for developing ideas for club car runs and trips The Activities Director shall serve as a facilita-tor for club activities and will not necessarily be responsible for individual club runs trips parties etc and shall report on club activities during regular meetings

be meeting at Stow Grove Park in Goleta at 580 La Patera Lane just below Cathedral Oaks Road Festivities will begin about 1100 with food being served at about 1200 Tri-tip and chicken will be served along with salad chili beans potato salad and desert Bring your own beverages and a good appetite for this event This will also be a good time to bring your check-book if you havenrsquot paid your upcoming dues and insurance for the coming year Total is $7200 with a check made to CCSB Pay by the pic-nic date and have a chance to win some great raffle prizes Hope to see you all at this fun event

DAY 1 ~ Friday August 20 2010 ~ Leave SB to Kingman AZ DAY 2 ~ Saturday August 21 2010 ~ Kingman AZ to Williams AZ via old Route 66 DAY 3 ~ Sunday August 22 2010 ~ Williams AZ to Grand Canyon AZ DAY 4 ~ Monday August 23 2010 ~ Grand Canyon AZ to Sedona AZ DAY 5 ~ Tuesday August 24 2010 ~ Sedona AZ to HOME From Santa Barbara we will travel to Kingman to join Bloomington Gold Tours We will stay in Kingman enjoy the evening festivities and our club will eat dinner at the Dambar Steak House The tour starts Saturday with an Indy 500 start on the streets of Kingman Their route will cover 200 miles with 98 miles on Arizona Historic 66 (the longest continuous stretch of old Route 66 left in America) and 150 miles of the route is a Rand McNally scenic route What could be better than combining the history of old Route 66 and the beauty of Grand Canyon National Park Following old Route 66 the high plains and valleys give way to cool mountain pine country ending at Grand Canyon National Park The Route 66Grand Canyon Tour begins in Kingman Arizona and travels Historic Route 66 to Hackberry Seligman (an ice cream at the Snow Cap is a MUST) and to Williams We will stay over night in Williams Sunday we will drive to the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim where the Tour ends For more informa-tion and photos please visit Bloomington Gold Toursrsquo web site wwwBloomingtonGoldTourscom The cost of the Route 66Grrand Canyon Tour presented by Bloomington Gold Tours is $75 per Corvette pay-able by check or money order Credit cards are not accepted I will distribute Tour applications at the April meeting and I will collect your checks made out to Bloomington Gold Tours at the June meeting The cost to get into the Grand Canyon Park is $2500 per Corvette Those 62 or older can purchase a lifetime pass for $1000 Our club will stay overnight in the Park at the Best Western Squire Inn so we can enjoy the sunset and for some of us the sunrise Monday we will leave for Sedona and stay overnight at the Best Western Arroyo Robel Hotel amp Creekside Villas In Sedona you can relax or walk around and shop at the arts and crafts village Tlaquepaque A short drive to the west is Jerome and its quaint winery The club will have dinner Monday night in Sedona at the Oak Creek Brewing Company

DAY 1 ~ Friday August 20 2010 ~ Leave SB to Kingman AZ DAY 2 ~ Saturday August 21 2010 ~ Kingman AZ to Williams AZ via old Route 66 DAY 3 ~ Sunday August 22 2010 ~ Williams AZ to Grand Canyon AZ DAY 4 ~ Monday August 23 2010 ~ Grand Canyon AZ to Sedona AZ DAY 5 ~ Tuesday August 24 2010 ~ Sedona AZ to HOME From Santa Barbara we will travel to Kingman to join Bloomington Gold Tours We will stay in Kingman enjoy the evening festivities and our club will eat dinner at the Dambar Steak House The tour starts Saturday with an Indy 500 start on the streets of Kingman Their route will cover 200 miles with 98 miles on Arizona Historic 66 (the longest continuous stretch of old Route 66 left in America) and 150 miles of the route is a Rand McNally scenic route What could be better than combining the history of old Route 66 and the beauty of Grand Canyon National Park Following old Route 66 the high plains and valleys give way to cool mountain pine country ending at Grand Canyon National Park The Route 66Grand Canyon Tour begins in Kingman Arizona and travels Historic Route 66 to Hackberry Seligman (an ice cream at the Snow Cap is a MUST) and to Williams We will stay over night in Williams Sunday we will drive to the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim where the Tour ends For more informa-tion and photos please visit Bloomington Gold Toursrsquo web site wwwBloomingtonGoldTourscom The cost of the Route 66Grrand Canyon Tour presented by Bloomington Gold Tours is $75 per Corvette pay-able by check or money order Credit cards are not accepted I will distribute Tour applications at the April meeting and I will collect your checks made out to Bloomington Gold Tours at the June meeting The cost to get into the Grand Canyon Park is $2500 per Corvette Those 62 or older can purchase a lifetime pass for $1000 Our club will stay overnight in the Park at the Best Western Squire Inn so we can enjoy the sunset and for some of us the sunrise Monday we will leave for Sedona and stay overnight at the Best Western Arroyo Robel Hotel amp Creekside Villas In Sedona you can relax or walk around and shop at the arts and crafts village Tlaquepaque A short drive to the west is Jerome and its quaint winery The club will have dinner Monday night in Sedona at the Oak Creek Brewing Company
