Shake-Off https://vimeo.com/showcase/6860611 Focus: Self-Awareness IF TECH/INTERNET IS NOT AVAILABLE: Take a 4 second breath for relaxation and focus on how you are feeling right now. Also pay attention to how you don’t want to feel. Is there any feeling you want to shake off? With your eyes closed, take a deep breath in for 1-2-3-4 and out 4-3-2-1. Now with your hands at shoulder level you are going to shake your right hand counting backwards quickly 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, left hand quickly 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Now tighten your shoulders for 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 and release for 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Repeat the movement starting with each hand, deleting a number each time until you reach 1. Excellent! Now breathe in for 1-2-3-4, and out for 4-3-2-1. Have a great day!

IF TECH/INTERNET IS NOT AVAILABLE: For this activity, we will breathe In through the nose for a count of 4, and out of the nose for a count of 8. When we breathe in, we will expand our stomach muscles which practices diaphragmatic breathing- the most efficient way to breathe. Using our stomach muscles and focusing on the breath helps us to breathe more effectively and slows down our nervous system which impacts how we feel. Begin sitting with feet flat on the floor and hands in lap. Focus on a point in front of you or close your eyes. Let’s begin! Breathe in for 1-2-3-4, and out 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Repeat 2 times. Now let’s do our last one while we think of a daily intention we can set for ourselves today. Ready? Breathe in for 1-2-3-4, and out for 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Slowly move fingers and toes, open your eyes and look up. Thank you for practicing diaphragmatic breathing and for moving this world.
