New Small Group: “UNSTUCK” Sunday Night’s/ 6:00 P.M @ the Seevers home!
Introductory Night: May 19th Are you stuck in a rut?
It’s easy for Christians to find themselves caught up in the life of cluttered schedules, rhythms, and routines dictated by our culture. Many feel stuck in the routine of life—their jobs, relationships, and daily circumstances. They know it’s not the life they dreamed of, and they feel stuck in a life
yearning for deeper meaning.
The Unstuck Bible study has been designed to help
guide you out of the ruts and pitfalls that so often ensnare us all. You will be inspired and equipped through the
powerful biblical teaching of Mark Batterson, Francis Chan, Lisa Harper and Rich Stearns.

COMING TRAVEL ADVENTURE: On
Wednesday, June 26, we’re going to Jackson
Center, Ohio to see how they build Airstream
trailers. The plant only provides group tours
at ten o’clock in the morning. Therefore, it
will be necessary for us to leave here at 7:30
AM on that day. The only cost for this trip
will be $5 per person for gas and whatever
you want to spend on your lunch. We will be
posting a sign-up sheet very soon. Looking
ahead: On October 17, we will be going to
the LaComedia Dinner Theatre to see a third
installment of “The Church Basement
Ladies”. If you are interested in making this
trip, you can make your reservations
early by contacting me or the church office.
The earlier the better! I would like your
payment 60 days in advance of the show
date. (The cost, per person is $44.00.
Remember this includes travel, dinner and the
show.)
“SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY”:
This week (May 12) we will host a special
“Mystery Speaker”. On May 19, we will
complete our current series on “The Friends
of Paul” with a study on “Demas, the
Defector”. If you are not involved in a “small
group”, on Sunday evenings, I encourage you
to join us. Communion is available for those
who desire. Please be reminded that we now
have activities for children each Sunday
evening.
WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDIES: Neither
of our Wednesday study groups (10 AM &
6:30 PM) will be meeting this week (May
15). We will resume on May 22. We
have just begun a study on the book of
Colossians.
FINAL THOUGHT: A gossip talks about
others, an egotist talks about himself and a
brilliant conversationalist talks about you.
THOUGHTS FROM BRAD …
Happy Mother’s Day to all the daughters of the King! We had a wonderful worship experience in the fellowship hall this past Sunday. I want to thank all those who worked hard to make it possible. We wrapped up our “Neighbor” series and we looked at the “Call of Matthew”. We were reminded that after he dropped everything to follow Jesus, he immediately planned a banquet for his friends and had Jesus as the guest of honor. The religious did not understand why Jesus would waste his time on the “scum of the earth” (sinners). I’m afraid not too much has changed since then. It would seem many Christians still don’t see the need to spend time with the “unchurched”. Regardless of whether people agree with our desire to meet “outsiders (those who need Jesus)” He still calls us to reach them. That is why our attitude is: “We will do whatever it takes to reach those who need Jesus.” During our second service on Sunday, we decided to host a “Matthew dinner” on May 19th! We are calling on our church to become aggressive in inviting people they know to this place. On May 19th, we are hosting a spaghetti dinner immediately following our second service. So after we have a chance to meet your friend’s spiritual needs, we want to provide for their physical needs as well. We will collect donations to offset the cost of the dinner. If anyone from first service wants to join us, we simply ask that you bring a friend that day with you to church and bring them back for the dinner. If you attend first service and plan to join us, there is a sign-up sheet in the coat room. You must sign up today. In His Service, Brad Seevers
Last week in Children’s Church, we
learned about the Ten Commandments.
In school, at home and at church we
have rules. Sometimes we do not like
the rules set before us, however they
are only set to help us! God has given us
specific rules to follow. Even though we
may find it hard at times to follow
these rules, He has given them to us
because He loves us and wants to keep
us safe!
Also, last week was our first week of
the transition! The kids had a great
time in their new worship center! If
anyone has any questions, feel free to
ask!

SCOTT’S THOUGHTS
Philippians 1:3-6 (NLT)
Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my
God. 4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests
for all of you with joy, 5 for you have been my
partners in spreading the Good News about
Christ from the time you first heard it until
now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began
the good work within you, will continue his
work until it is finally finished on the day
when Christ Jesus returns.
I want to say thank you to those who
participated in the second service this past
Sunday. Thanks are also in order for those who
were not there but have been praying for this
new work to succeed. A special thanks to our
leadership for their willingness to step outside
of their comfort zone and try something
different to expand the kingdom.
This service is about partnering together to
spread the good news. It is about equipping
and empowering all of us to be ambassadors
for Christ in our own circles of influence. This
is an opportunity to step out on this faith
journey together, encouraging one another to
use our gifts and abilities to glorify God and
invite others to join the journey.
You are needed in the kingdom. You are gifted
by God for the purpose of building up the body
of Christ so we can reach more people. You
are being prayed for. You are the answer to
someone’s prayers. I thank God for you,
your talents, your abilities, and your
encouragement. Join us this Sunday. Be a
blessing to each other and to our community.
We have begun, and I am certain that God will
continue to mold and shape us to carry the
gospel to the whole world until Jesus returns.

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE! At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving
people, and turning the world upside down.
We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you return next week and bring your
friends with you. If you would please take a few minutes to fill out a “Silent Roll Call Card”, located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in
the offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. For more information about our great church, contact
our minister, Brad Seevers at [email protected] or call him at 740.550.9882. Have a
great week and may God bless your life.
Need a great mechanic? There’s only one
person I’ll trust with my sweet ride. Allow me
to “toot the horn” for Tim Eldridge. Tim &
Tracy attend here at FACC and he is a “Mr.
Fixit” when it comes to your vehicle.
Tim will treat you right! He can fix anything
on your car but he also specializes in A/C
and Transmission work.
If you need to make an appointment, call
Tim at 654-1345.

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and
vision of Fifth Avenue Church of
Christ are:
Christ-Centered Worship We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through
our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through
grace-based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is
our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).
Church Health and Biblical Balance
Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony
& live consistently. We expect every member to protect the
unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)
Global Evangelism We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism,
proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and
Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).
Fellowship and Ministry
After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them
to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone
to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also
want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power
to the world.
Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue
Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you
that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of
obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are
taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.
Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical
marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah
56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
OUR PURPOSE
WE EXIST TO …
Exalt God’s Greatness;
Evangelize God’s Work
Equip God’s People
Express God’s Love through Jesus Christ
OUR MISSION
“To Love God and Love People!”
How Can I Respond Today?
At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on
all issues. We believe that God’s Word is
clear concerning what a person must do to
become a Christian.
Trust that Jesus can bring you to
salvation.
Turn (repent) from the sin in your
life.
Confess your desire to make Jesus the
Lord of your life.
Be baptized (immersed) in water for
the forgiveness of sins and to receive
the Holy Spirit into your life.
To make this life decision for Christ, we ask
that you come forward during our commitment
song at the conclusion of the Sunday message.
Baptized believers are welcome to become
members at FACC by coming forward on
Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior
Minister to discuss this further. We ask that
you complete a series of Curious classes to help
you better understand what you are
committing to as a member.
