GEN3SYS® XT and GEN3SYS® high penetration drilling systems have been designed to provide high speed productionmachining beyond the capabilities of the T-A® system. The standard product offering covers a diameter range from11.00mm to 35.00mm with drill hole depths of up to 7 x diameter. The programme has various grades, geometries andcoatings available to suit the most demanding of applications.

Conceived from the outset as the ‘ultimate’ high performance drilling solution, the GEN3SYS® XT and GEN3SYS® rangeis incredibly versatile. Incorporating both helical and straight fluted tool holder options across the range, as well asthrough coolant for maximum material removal, the GEN3SYS® XT and GEN3SYS® inserts not only give outstandingperformance from day one, but can also be re-ground for extended life and economy.

Tool Assembly

1. Place the GEN3SYS® Drill Insertinto the precision groundlocating pocket on theGEN3SYS® Holder.

2. The drill insert should not beturned rotated or twisted forlocking purposes. The holderpocket and locating pad on thedrill insert assure optimum fitand repeatability.

3. Place a generous amount ofNever Seize (provided in thepackaging) onto the suppliedTORX Plus Screws. Tighten theTORX Plus Screws utilising thepredetermined TORX Plus Driversand TORX Plus Screw admissibletightening Torque outlined in thecatalogue per GEN3SYS® Series.

• Compare performance of other tools for similarwear problems, which may indicate poor micro-structure. Anneal or normalize parts toimprove micro-structure for machining.

• To improve tool life in materials with poormicro-structure try carbide grades.
