Mattar Paneer Masala A wonderful dish made from green peas and cottage cheese. This wonderful dish goes along well with chappatis and rotis.
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
Tomatoes (big) : 3 nos.
Paneer / Indian cottage cheese(cubed) : 1 cup
Fresh green peas : 1 cup
Pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds : 1 tablespoon
Shredded coconut : 1 tablespoon
Onions (medium) : 2 nos.
Ginger : small piece
Garlic pods : 2-‐3 cloves
Kasuri methi : 1 tablespoon
Chilli powder : 1 tablespoon
Coriander powder : 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder : ½ teaspoon
Sesame and cummin seeds : 1 tablespoon
Butter : 1 tablespoon
Milk : ¼ cup
Coriander leaves : some
Salt : as required
Oil : 2 teaspoons

Method 1. Soak the sesame, cumin, sunflower and pumpkin seeds along with grated coconut in hot
water for 15 minutes. Grind to a fine paste. 2. Grind ginger, garlic and onions together to a coarse paste. 3. Grind the tomatoes to a fine paste. 4. Heat butter in a pan. Add the paneer cubes. Saute in medium heat till they get brown
and then transfer to another vessel. 5. Now to the pan, add the ginger garlic and onion paste, sauté for 2 minutes. Now add the
tomato paste. Mix well. Then add all the powders. Add salt. Stir well. Cover it and cook for 5 to 10 minutes in medium heat till it is cooked.
6. In the meantime, microwave the green peas for 5 minutes. Transfer these to the pan. 7. Then add paste of coconut and seeds. Add the fried paneer. Stir well, cover it and allow
it boil in low heat for 5 minutes. 8. Remove the lid. Add Kasuri methi and the milk. Stir well. Stop the flame and cover the
pan with the lid and allow it to remain like this for 5 minutes. 9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with any dish of your choice.
