Here’swhathappenedtomethissummer.Iturned57.Ashockingthing,mainlyforitsproximityto60.Besidesafewaches(myshoulder)andpains(thebottomofmyfeet!),Idon’tfeel57.Yes,Ihaveafewnewtricks:Iuseadabofrednailpolishtoindicatepowerswitches(thankyouKateHines),andsometimesIhavetolookonfacebooktorememberwhomyfriendsare.Butmyhusbandalwayscounselsmenottofretaboutthingsbeyondmycontrol,andthiscertainlyis.So,I’vedecidedI’mgoingtoownit.And,asidefromthedeepeningcreasesandtummybulgethatwon’tbudge,it’snotsobad.IhaveworkthatIlove,afullfamilyandsociallife,andI’mphysicallyactive(moreformymindthanbody!).Accordingtomydaughter,I’maworkaholic;I’vealwayspushed-pushed-pushedandwantedmore-more-moreoutofmyself,thevariousbusinessesI’vehad,and,yes,fromfamilyandfriends,too.InhonorofSelfImprovementMonth(whoknew?),mygoalfor57istocutmyself(andthosearoundme)someslack.Ithinkit’stime,no?BecauseI’mlookingforwardtofeeling57at80.
