Doesnt this prove that the Holy Spirit directly and miraculously dwells within Christians as our personal gift today? KEY---What is the gift of the Holy Spirit? Slide 16 GIFT OF THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT There is a lot of confusion created - because people do not distinguish between. 1)The HOLY SPIRIT Himself - as the free gift DOREA of God = a gift God gives to EVERY Christian. Acts 2:38 2)The GIFTS CHARISMATA which the Holy Spirit Himself GIVES in the N.T. - 1 Cor 12:11; AS HE WILLS Slide 17 1)The HOLY SPIRIT Himself - as the free gift DOREA of God = a gift God gives to EVERY Christian. Acts 2:38 It does NOT imply the POWER to work miracles, and it is NOT necessary, in any passage where the GIFT is referred to, to imply such powers. Slide 18 2) The GIFTS CHARISMATA which the Holy Spirit Himself GIVES in the N.T. 1 Cor 12:11; AS HE WILLS That the CHARISMATA are miraculous powers, is proved by Acts 10:44; Rom 12:6; 1 Tim 4:14; 2 Tim 1:6; as well as 1 Cor 12:4, 9,28,30,31. IF OUR LIVES ARE NOT ENVELOPED IN A FLOOD OF EMOTIONS, DOES IT MEAN THAT WE DONT HAVE THE SPIRIT DWELLING IN US? Slide 24 1.GOD DWELLS IN US ... For you are the temple of the living God.
