Objectives & Function

• To reduce the incidence of preventable injuries & accidents

• To minimize the financial loss to the institution should an injury or an accident occur

(Smith, Dean G.; Wheeler, John R.C.)• Managing the Risk so it can give a high quality of

service and safe environment for its patients and visitors (East Sussex)

• The ultimate output of Risk Management is an improvement in quality of service & patient safety, with the spirit of not “zero defect” but more towards“no accident”.

ConclusionRisk can not be eliminated but it should be minimized, for that we have to manage the risk so the image and reputation of the hospital would not be damaged.Should that ever happen, it could diminish the trust of our consumer, which would decrease the amount of visit, in which would lead to the decrease of hospital income.
