Citizen’s Police Academy This week at the Citizen’s Academy we drove police cars. We had a blast. We learned about driving fast (both forward and
reverse). We drove a Chevy Impala, Ford Explorer and Chevy Tahoe around a course. In the end we all drove through a course and were timed. I got third place out of about 10 people. We also got to experience a Pit Maneuver in which the car is spun around. I got to ride in the car that was spun around. It was very fun. We have very skilled drivers on our Sioux City Police force.
Last Friday night I rode with the Sioux City Police for 4 hours (from 6 – 10 pm). We dealt with a tractor trailer truck that hit a stop light, had to respond to some vandalism that occurred the night before and responded a call about people living in a lilac bush (they had left by the time we got there). We also had to arrest a man who was drunk (and maybe on drugs) for trying to enter a home. He was taken to the prison where he was less than cooperative. He was charged with public intox, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer (he spit on the police) and trying to break into a home.

Do you want to learn how to share your faith in a non-confrontational joyous way? St. Paul Street Evangelization has mobilized thousands of Catholics to fully participate in the work of the New Evangeliza-tion through its workshops.
