What else do I need?

To run your business using Match-IT you will also need one or more computers running the operating system and an accounting system.

The version of Windows must be Windows XP (or later) for the workstations and WindowsServer 2003 (or later) for the server. For small networks (less than 10 computers), a dedicatedserver is not necessary.

The preferred network is CAT5 100MHz or above using switched hubs.

Match-IT is accounting system agnostic, it is designed to operate alongside any accountingsystem that can import transactions from an external source, e.g. Sage Line 50. This meansyou can probably keep your existing accounting system and just connect it to Match-IT.

In the context of Match-IT, the accounting system is only used for your credit control,controlling payment and creating your balance sheet. Most other operations, including invoicingand day-to-day management reporting, are performed within the Match-IT system. Also,Match-IT is fully multi-currency capable, so your accounting system doesn’t have to be. Thismeans you do not need a high-spec accounting system and often a single user version isadequate.

Where did Match-IT come from?

An organisation was originally formed in 1983 called quickSOFT, to provide general softwareconsultancy services. In 1988, we started to focus on small manufacturers. We now only dealwith companies of this type. The development of the Match-IT software started in 1993 in co-operation with six such companies. The success of the product enabled quickSOFT to re-structure and expand in 1995, and again in 1998. In 1997, we won a DTI SMART award toinvestigate novel scheduling techniques. The result of this investigation is now incorporatedinto the Match-IT product as its SMART Scheduler. The company name was changed toMatch-IT Limited in 1998 to reflect our total commitment to the Match-IT product.

Our purpose is to help small manufacturers to be more competitive and enable their growththrough the use of modern computers and sophisticated software.

The Match-IT product is the result of over twenty years of intensive development. Itrepresents the embodiment of over fifteen year’s experience in meeting the special needs ofmanufacturers. It is a proven product. The first operational system was installed in 1997 and isstill going strong today. It fully utilises the capabilities of modern computers to bring youleading-edge benefits not available elsewhere.
