Private Driveway Snow Removal Notice The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Public Works Department, Road Maintenance Division wishes to bring to the attention of the Borough residents and property owners that it is illegal to plow snow from private property onto or across the public road right-of-ways. Illegal plowing of snow onto the road right-of-way reduces the width of the driving surface, creates safety hazards, restricts sight distance, creates drainage problems during spring run- off, and makes it difficult and more costly for snow removal operations. Additional costs means additional taxes. Borough ordinances allow a fine of up to $500.00 for each violation. We ask for the cooperation of all responsible citizens of the borough. Gulkana Street, Palmer, Alaska. A conditional use permit under MSB 17.70 – Regulation of Alcoholic Beverage Uses, has been submitted by Liquor Stores USA North, Inc. dba Brown Jug for the operation of a Brown Jug liquor package store located on Lot 3D, Olympic Subdivision, 172 S. Lamont Circle, within Township 17 North, Range 2 West, Section 12, Seward Meridian. The applicant proposes to operate a 1,354 square foot liquor package store within an existing 3,151 square foot building. The conditional use permit will be introduced for public hearing at the February 4, 2013 Planning Commission meeting. The assembly of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough will hold a public hearing during the 6:00 p.m. assem- bly meeting on February 19, 2013 at the Mat-Su Borough School District Admin Building located at 501 North Gulkana St Palmer, Alaska, on the ordinances for the road paving and natural gas local improve- ment districts listed below. The assembly of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough will hold a public hearing during the 6:00 p.m. assem-bly meeting on February 19, 2013 at the Mat-Su Borough School District Admin Building located at 501 North Gulkana St Palmer, Alaska, on the ordinances for the road paving and natural gas local improve-ment districts listed below. The purpose of the public hearing on the ordinances is to determine whether to create the road paving and natural gas local improvement districts, approve the improvement plans, authorize the manager to proceed with the improvements and assess the total costs of the improve-ments against the benefited properties creating a lien on each property assessed. The estimated total costs of the improvements and estimated assessment against each property is set forth below. The estimated cost stated is subject to change. The actual costs to be assessed will be determined upon completion of construction.

The assembly, for the road paving improvement district, may proceed with the improvement if owners of properties within the district bearing at least one-half of the estimated total costs of the improvement, return ballots marked “yes” to the Finance Department, attention Michael Newman, prior to 5 p.m. on February 15, 2013.
