AUTHORS PREFACE

The purpose of this book is to reveal the true Agenda of

President Obama and his team, the motives behind a need to be mass

manipulators and the means by which Americans are manipulated.

Few books have intrigued me as much as AlinskysRules for

Radicals, which was dedicated to Lucifer, the first radical, who

rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at

least won his own kingdom.i

Saul Alinsky, a Marxist activist who fought for the rights of the

have nots against the haves

He clearly defined liberals as different from radicals; liberals,

talk; radicals take action. However, Alinsky criticized the radicals of

the 60s,

wrote these rules to encourage the

under class to take action to better themselves. Alinsky is concerned

with creating mass organizations to size power and give it to the

people. I am all for supporting the rights of the less fortunate and

giving everyone the tools to the American Dream; however,

manipulating people to arrive at a desired goal is unacceptable.

and wear bandanas, but rather wear suits and carry briefcases. Building

Alinskys tactics were used to achieve the ends regardless of

When President Barack Obama was a community Organizer,

he taught the manipulative Alinskys Rules for Radicals to Organizers

in ACORN,

; he didnt care whether one had to lie, cheat or steal for the

ends justifies the means. Ridicule was viewed as a strong tool of the

left to intimidate those who disagree.

a grass roots organization founded by Wade Rathke,vi

member of the Weathermen terrorist organization and friend of Bill

Ayers. To a Community Organizer, power comes from the grass

roots. Obama is now surrounded and supported by radical grass roots

organizations like ACORN and the Union, SEIU, both of which work

towards achieving a Progressive agenda through manipulation and

intimidation vii

Manipulation is used by this Administration to create more

power and more control, and as manipulation intensifies, so does abuse

and dismissal of the American public. Abusive practices include

ignoring the wishes of the voters to meet with their Congress members

to discuss healthcare

INTRODUCTION

On June 19, 2010, President Obama used the Alinsky tactic of

Pick the target, freeze it, it, personalize it, and polarize itix

During a speech in the Rose Garden, Obama said "It's time to

do what's right, not for the next election, but for the middle class,"

and

combined it with ruthless scapegoating, that is, blaming other for your

own actions.

However, Obama targeted the Republicans for the mess, and

now calling Republicans misguided for not extending benefits.

Obama said, "That attitude, I think, reflects a lack of faith in the

American people." (That phrase is typical of Alinsky trick of

divisiveness, trying to say that Republicans are against the American

people.)

. He

was referring to a Bill in Congress that extends unemployment benefits.

For weeks, legislators have battled over legislation extending

unemployment benefits to workers who have been out of a job for long

stretches of time. The last such extension expired at the end of May,

leaving some 2.5 million people without benefits. Republicans argue

that no new spending should be required; the dollars for spending

should be taken from monies already budgeted.

The President said that the out-of-work people he hears from

are "not looking for a handout. They desperately want to work. Just

right now, they can't find a job."xi

He is manipulating a hot situation, exploiting the unemployed,

attacking Republicans and dividing the country even more with these

misstatements. Following the Alinsky tactic, Obama is clearly

isolating, polarizing and attacking Republicans for not extending

benefits. However, many Americans are unemployed as a direct result

of the policies of Obama, and heres where the scapegoating comes in.

He continued, These are honest,

decent, hardworking folks who have fallen on hard times through no

fault of their own." Perhaps Obama should find them jobs, not

unemployment checks.

Although he is making unemployment benefits the main

issue, the real issue is getting jobs. This is raw manipulation of

Americans, triggering human emotions and dividing the country.

The fact is Obama is to blame, not Republicans. Obama is

sending Americans tax dollars overseas to create jobs there. Obama is

responsible for job losses in the United States, particularly as he pushes

the oil industry out of the United States and into other countries.

Getting the oil industry out of the United States, is part of the

Progressive agenda, and is not only devastating to American jobs but

for our self-reliance on oil. Here are just some of the ways Americans

lost jobs:

1. In August,2009, President Obama sent $2 billion toBrazils state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance

exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil's

Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro,

adding jobs to that country.xii

2. In June, 2010, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar issued afalse statement requesting a moratorium on oil driling

in the deep water of the Gulf. Judge Martina Feldman,

East District Court of Louisiana, responded and denied

the request indicating that it would hurt the economy.

The Obama administration is ignoring the court order

and proceeding with a moratorium pushing oil rigs and

jobs out of the United States resulting in a devasting

loss to the Gulf economy. xiii

3. As a result of the oil spill disaster, an immediate17,000 jobs were lost, and its estimated that 100,000

more will go away, as a result of the Gulf losses and

the Obama moratorium on drilling. xiv

4. In July of 2010, the U.S. company, Lufkin Industries,who builds oil and gas equipment, announced it was

opening up a plant in Romania, and adding 300 jobs to

that country.xv

5. The uncertainty of oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico,caused by the Obama administrations policies, has

driven oil companies to consider other destinations for

drilling such as Brazil, West Africa and India, taking

jobs away from Americans.

6. In June, 2010, Obama Administration told ArizonaGovernor Brewer that the U.S. was sending more than

double the financial support to Mexico than to our own

state of Arizona.

This is the real problem.

Does that sound like a President that is driven to support

Americans and create jobs?

Obama is clearly manipulating Americans with explosive

rhetoric and dividing the country for the purpose of establishing a

Progressive agenda, contrary to our Constitution and way of life. In

this book, we will explore how were being manipulated and what we

can do about it.

WHAT IS MANIPULATION?

"Just as most soldiers believe bullets

will hit only others, not themselves,

most citizens like to think that their

own minds and thought processes

are invulnerable. Other people can

be manipulated, but not me,' they

declare."

Margaret Singer was a psychologist and expert in the fields of

cults and mind controlxviii

. As Singer indicates, most of us believe we

are incapable of being manipulated. Without hesitation, most people

decry, Not me!

Manipulation is the art and act of coercing someonexix

Alinsky produced a method to manipulate groups of people to

push forward a political agenda. We will look at the ease at which

manipulation can take place on many levels.

process of easy seduction, which slowly glides the victim into giving in

to the wants, needs and desires of the Manipulator, or the Victor.

The cunning fact of manipulation implies youre unaware of

the propaganda that is being presented to you. If you knew you were

being manipulated, you wouldnt be. Manipulation can be as simple as

smiling seductively at your boyfriend to get your way or to ask for a

favor. It can also be a larger plan of strategically lying and deceiving

for the purpose of taking control or gaining power over others.

Were manipulated daily through TV commercials, radio and

print ads, news articles, television shows or films. Were bombarded

with messages on billboards, sides of buses and backs of cabs; we read

emails and online posts from Twitter, Facebook and other social

networking sites. From the time we wake up until we retire at night

were absorbing messages. No wonder, after a while, we mentally tune

out.

With so much information being tossed towards us, how do we

know what to believe and how do we avoid being manipulated? First

of all, we should understand that the art of manipulating others is as

easy as 1,2,3,4.

The Simple Art of Manipulation

Overall, there are four main steps to manipulation over others.

Step 1 - Trust. Trust is the first level of engagement. The

manipulator is nice, caring and charismatic; people see her/him as

honest and straightforward. The manipulator could be our neighbor,

co-worker or salesman. Theres a saying in the sales industry,

Customers dont buy from people they dont like, so its imperative

that trust is won. Whether were buying coffee, a new car, or a

politicians promise, we prefer dealing with those whom we like and

trust.

Im using the analogy of car sales, not because I believe theyre

evil manipulators, but because most people have dealt with them. Also,

car salesmen follow a specific script designed to manipulate the buyer

into a closing sales.

In the competitive arena of car sales, the salesperson initially tries

to win you over. He introduces himself and finds a commonality

between you. Maybe his mother lives in your town or he really likes

your watch, etc. Trust matters.

On an interpersonal level, manipulation can also occur within a

marriage. A husband is sometimes manipulative or even abusive in

order to gain power and control. Many abused wives recall their

husbands did not abuse them in the beginning. At the start, these men

were attentive and caring, perhaps a bit too attentive. Often, constantly

checking on a wife or not trusting her can be misinterpreted as being

attentive. In the beginning, most wives like the attention and trust these

men explicitly. Trust is what a manipulator seeks to move to the next

level.

Step 2 - Control. Control is important in the process of

manipulation. More than anything, manipulators want the victims to

remain dependent upon them; after all, a manipulator has already

shown he is of a trustworthy nature by doing what is best for the

victim.

A car salesman has to take control from the beginning to lead the

buyer to the close or sale. A script is closely followed which almost

guarantees the buyer will sign the contract.

Retail online stores frequently ask customers to join the club or

sign up as a preferred customer. This kind of control somewhat

assures them you are likely to be back to buy more.

To further apply the steps of manipulation to a marriage, it should

be noted that a controlling man could also be viewed as a strong man.

The manipulating husband takes control, but as he does so, he always

indicates he is doing it for the benefit of the family.

One forty year old woman, whose husband was overbearing, a born

manipulator, and perhaps even abusive, found herself still asking her

spouse for money. He handled the family checkbook, and she had no

idea about the state of their finances. Whenever this woman brought up

the idea of maintaining her own checkbook, her husband would simply

remind her that he took care of the finances because he loved her and

did not want her to be bothered by financial concerns. Controlling?

Absolutely.

Step 3 - Elimination of Outside Influences. The manipulator

must isolate victims from outside influences as much as possible.

When a person is isolated, the relationship with the manipulator grows

stronger. Car salesmen will try to eliminate the idea of going to a

competitor. He may ask the buyer to take a test drive, for example.

Once inside the car, the buyer forms a bond with the new car; at this

point, it will be more difficult to say no to a sale.

Commercials and ads always described their products as the best,

Number ONE or new and improved. Its imperative they stand out

among the competition to eliminate them.

The domestic manipulator, or the abusive husband, eliminates

other friends, outside of their relationship, stressing they are not

necessary because he, alone, is capable of taking care of everyone..

When outside influences are eliminated, the victim starts to question

his/her beliefs. As a result of the absence of external input and

communication, individuals can easily be taught to think along the lines

of their manipulator and accept their beliefs, even though these beliefs

may be contrary to reason and in some cases, dangerous.

An abusive or manipulative husband usually tells his wife

which of her friends meets with his approval and forbids her to see

any friends that dont meet with his endorsement. He is typically afraid

these unapproved friends will turn her against him or put him in a bad

light.

Step 4 - Intimidation. Intimidation is intensive manipulation,

sometimes leading to abuse in desperate situations. The car salesman

may bring in the manager or closer. The purpose of the scripted

tactics of the closer is to close the deal and get a contract signed. They

do not want the buyer to leave without signing because the chances of

coming back are slim.

In the workplace, it would be sexual harassment, or manipulating

the victim for favors.

In the case of an abusive husband, this is generally communicated

in the tone of Do it my way or else. Many wives are fearful that not

following their husbands wishes will result in the loss of favors or

even punishment. They are afraid to leave their husbands for fear of

their own safety and/or the safety of their children. At this point,

abused women are prisoners in their own homes through manipulation,

control and intimidation.

Where Do We See Manipulation?

Manipulation occurs on many levels within the environs of

corporate relationships, at the point-of-sale of a product or service or at

a politicians meeting with constituents. In all cases, theres a strong

need for control.
