Specifying Polar CoordinatesTo enter the exact distance of 3 (or 9 metric) units to the right of the last point you selected, do

    the following:

    1. Click the Line tool on the ome ta!"s #raw panel, or type L.2. Click a point slightly to the left of the center of the drawing area to select the start point$

    3. Type @3

method, called the #irect #istance method, along with the 6rtho mode or 'olar Tracking descri!ed inChapter 3, can !e a fast way to draw orthogonal lines of specific lengths$

C%oosing Co""and )ptions%any commands in &utoC offer seeral options, which are often presented to you in the Command

Dhen you moe or copy o!-ects, &utoC prompts you for a !ase point, which is a difficult concept

to grasp$ &utoC must !e told specificallyfrom where and to where the moe occurs$ The base point

is the exact location from which you determine the distance and direction of the

moe$ &fter the !ase point is determined, you can tell &utoC where to moe the o!-ect in relation tothat point$ ollow these steps to practice using !ase points:

    1. To select a !ase point, press hiftJright1click$ & menu appears, displaying the 6!-ect nap options(see igure $K)$ Dhen you right1click the mouse, make sure the cursor is within the &utoC
