Dear colleagues,
The Hellenic Group of Sarcoma and Rare Diseases (HG-SRC) and the Hellenic Oncology Re-
search Group (HORG) are pleased to welcome you in Athens, at the Royal Olympic Hotel, on
March 15th-16th 2019 for a Masterclass of Sarcoma and Rare Cancers. The event aims to induce
an interest in the challenging field of sarcomas amongst the local medical community, by com-
bining background knowledge and contemporary developments in the management of these
rare diseases. The Masterclass is addressed to pathologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists,
surgeons, orthopedics as well as any other scientific groups dealing with sarcomas.
The sessions held during the Masterclass will include an introduction to the characteristics of
different sarcoma subtypes and presentations on the diagnosis and management of a wide
range of sarcoma cases. Emphasis will be placed on presenting the latest diagnostic and thera-
peutic advances in each area. A prestigious faculty from all over Europe representing various
disciplines involved in the management of sarcoma subtypes will provide an excellent opportu-
nity for scientific and didactic sessions presented to Greek physicians.
After the success of the first official meeting of the Hellenic Group of Sarcoma on January
2018, and as a continuation of this initiative for the integrated treatment of sarcoma patients in
Greece, a second official meeting will take place during the meeting’s last session. The success
of this effort relies on comprehensive work, but also on everyone’s dedication and active sup-
port to this educational seminar.
Within the grounds of the Masterclass of sarcomas, we wish to welcome you and warmly thank
you for your participation.
