Can continuous professional development be the vehicle for achieving our school
improvement priorities whilst building skill, knowledge, and professional growth in our
own teams?
Is this a perfect route to embedded succession planning and enhanced recruitment
and retention?
What are the levers we need to pull to bring this engine to life and sustain a culture of
professional improvement?
In this workshop, we will explore this agenda and consider some of the possible solutions.

Even when we aren’t in the midst of a pandemic, day-to-day firefighting in schools and trusts

priorities understandably get pushed down the to-do list. But good strategic communications
are central to an organisation’s success.
Here, Tiffany Beck, Senior Consultant with PLMR, shares:
Why positive PR, proactive Public Affairs and a planned approach to crisis management
matters so much;
How to approach communications so that you get the full benefit; and
Practical tips to start using it to your trust’s advantage straight away.

Centralised governance is a key starting point to ensure that governance at local level is
efficient, from the distribution of the most up to date policy, the provision of new guidelines,
the sharing of information and documents and as well as the monitoring of outcomes. So, how
can we support School Trusts and enable them to be agile and adopt good governance
practices? To tackle this issue, here at OnBoard, we are inviting two thought leaders to share
their knowledge and expertise about good governance practices.
