• It depends on your goals/specialty :
You should ask yourself what will mph do for my short term and long term goals.
Definitely every specialty will gain experience from mph but generally medical specialties will benefit more.

• Your sponsor : some universities decided to send their demonstrators for mph based on previous criteria, however MOHE students has no privilege to do mph because their scholarship is for Residency only.
What do you need to know
• Prepare/apply early !
Some program’s deadlines are 9 months before the course (good programs)
What do you need to know
• SACM affiliations (e.g. John Hopkins)
SACM has great affiliations with top universities ,contact your advisor for updated list of affiliations .
What do you need to know
• Change of major and MOHE approval
If you are a MOHE student (king abdullahscholarship) then you have to change your major through Safeer and there will be a committee in Riyadh that will approve/disapprove your request based on a certain criteria.

• 2-year VS 1-year programs
You don’t want to spend unnecessary time studying mph, look for accelerated programs that will grant the degree within 1-year so you can catch up with Residency the following year.
Requirements
• 3 letters of recommendations
When you apply , you will put the name and email addresses of your recommenders and they will have to log-in and recommend you online. In some programs there is a choice of mailing the recommendation as long as it’s from the recommender himself.

The most important paper, it’s basically your interview ! Work hard on it and write down your goals and why are you doing mph , which focus of mph are you interested in , and how will you grow from it.

You could use some help on writing your CV, some clerkship companies could help you with that.

Programs will waive it with your MBBS degree or with your USMLE , some will waive it individually by interviewing you.
• TOEFL (waived)
Affiliated programs will waive it.

• Transcript ( with credential evaluation)
your transcript must be verified by a third party company which will send it to the programs
• Health related work experience (waived)
It’s not required for health care graduates , e.gPhysicians , Dentist, Nurses.

• Just like the ECFMG, they will give you a (release form), you’ll have to sign it and send it to your University-scan is fine- which will have to fill it and send it directly to them along with your transcript in a ( sealed envelop)

• Consider taking your TOEFL exam
• Don’t let it interfere with your USMLE’s preparation
