• 20 elements of PM-technical competencies cover the methodological and technical aspects of project management

Entry requirements for certification levels

IPMA Level A (Project portfolio- and Programme Management) 5 years of experience (3 years in role)

IPMA Level B (Senior Project Manager) 5 years of experience (3 years in role) with PM in complex projects

IPMA Level C (Project Manager) 3 years of experience (in role) with limited complex projects

IPMA Level D (Project Team Member) experience is advantageous, not required

How to perform a self-assessment?1. Read the competence element in the

competence baseline

2. Study the taxonomy (what is expected for my level?)

3. Assess your own level: low=I need assistance, medium=I can perform it on my own, high=I could assist somebody with knowledge and experience

4. What is your targeted level after the certification preparation?

5. Identify gaps and focus your training to fill in these gaps

6. Do not just fill in the required benchmark, it is neither relevant for VZPM nor for you

Check your success rate and the required time Deepen potential knowledge gaps Prepare your books for fast look-up

Stick closely to the template Carefully read and follow the explanatory instruction in the

templates Do not leave out any required information For the level B project description focus on project complexity For the reports focus on project management, rather than on

project content Describe practical situations, how you analysed them, how

you acted and the results achieved (STAR-method)
