Maryland acquired it’s nickname “Old Line State” during the America Revulsion. Because Maryland’s tough army , and their efforts to “hold

the line” for their state, Maryland, their nickname became the “Old Line State”

Most of Maryland is covered in forest. The forest include more than 150 types of tree. Grapes, strawberries, black berries, and raspberries also Grow here. Lots of flowers reside in the forests of Mary land, weird names like black snake root, partridge pea, hobblebush, and wake Robin.

The Chesapeake Bay is comprised of six rivers! Patapsco, Gunpowder, and Patuxent flow in from the west side. But, Choptan, Nanticoke, and Chester come from the east side. It’s also made of the Eastern and Western shore. Most people visit to fish for sea food like, fish, crab, and oyster. The most valuable sea food are crabs and oysters.

The fall line is an imaginary line that separates the Piedmont Plateaus from the Atlantic Costal . Once boats reach the fall line they are blocked by the river rapids and water falls near the fall line.
