HOW DO I EDIT THE INFORMATION?
Start by clicking the Edit My Profile Link in the left navigation pane
Then use the Edit links for each piece of information you want to change
Click Update Photo in the right navigation pane to add a photo
HOW DO I ADD A PHOTO?
Choose the photo from your computer and click Save
Click Browse to find a photo you want to use
HOW DO I ADD PRESENT AND PAST EMPLOYERS?
Listing present employer and all past employers helps you find more Connections and makes your profile more complete.
To add or change information, click the Edit link.
Fill in the employment details and a short description. Click Save Changes.
HOW DO I ADD EMPLOYMENT DETAILS?
HOW DO I ADD EDUCATION, ARTICLES, CLIENTS & HOBBIES?
At the bottom of your profile, you have the option of adding information about your Education, Articles written, Clients represented, and Personal Interests and Hobbies
ANATOMY OF A GOOD PROFILE:CLIENTS
Client listings help build your referral network by putting others on notice about the kind of work you do.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Don’t overlook this section. Listing interests and hobbies can be a great way of meeting people on the network
I once got a job interview b/c the partner saw I had “kung fu” listed on my profile (it helped me stand out).
SUGGESTED CONNECTIONS:PEOPLE YOU’VE WORKED WITH
Our system pulls data based on present and past positions
You find Suggested Connections the People You May Know link in the left navigation bar
SUGGESTED CONNECTIONS:YOUR LINKEDIN CONNECTIONS
You can also check to see which of your LinkedIn connections are also on Martindale-Hubbell Connected.
USING THE INVITE TOOL
If you don’t hear back within a few days, send an email to your connection telling them to look for an invite

FINDING THE RIGHT GROUP FOR YOU
What to look for in a group:• Avoid the “shell group” = growing
membership with no activity• Searching the groups directory• Subject matter that interests you• People you know in the group• Content being posted regularly
SEARCHING THE GROUPS DIRECTORY
Browse by category in the groups directory
Search for group subject matter in the Community pull down
EXAMPLE OF A GOOD GROUP: SOCIAL MEDIA FOR LAWYERS
• Lots of members and activity• Content in all three areas: blogs, forums, and media• Subject matter that interests me• User generated content
FINDING YOUR CONNECTIONS IN A GROUP
Click on the Members link in the right navigation panel
Look for your connections among group members.
THE WISDOM OF CROWDS: ENGAGING THE GROUP
• Introduce yourself on a welcome posts (start one if there isn’t one there)
• Reply to existing posts• Share an article or white
paper in the File Library
The File Library can be found on the right navigation panel click Add New Files in the “I Want Too…” menu.
HOW THIS HELPS KIDS
• Studies show that online networks become useful to users when they get 20 or more connections
• Having a complete profile makes you accessible to other members
• Corporate counsel members raise money by joining and connecting
