We must someday climb a mountain

Life is full of emotions. Happy times as well as hard times. Not always it is like that. Sometimes the hard times appear more frequently than ha-ppy. Maybe this is why we should value more the little bubble that is happiness and prepare to face the difficulties and setbacks that we might come in our way.

In our modern world we exercise less than be-fore.Nowadays, we have a remote control to turn on or off, change channels, raise or lower the volume of the TV, the stereo, or to remotely control our fans, we have Eletricas stairs, eleva-tors, and we drive on a car most of the time we go someplace. And if we go to the mountaintop we rent a helicopter, we took some photos and go back to the daily routine a little empty insi-de, thinking how boring it was the trip without much to tell our parents, children or friends.

Do you know what happened? We have for-gotten something very important: The way to achieve the objective is more important than the goal itself. The ecstasy of being on top does not make the summit itself, but the way to reach

it. If we have to wake up early in the morning, start walking, breaking the undergrowth, ma-king way where there is no road, feel the heat of the sun burning our back, after a few hours walking we will feel the heat of the sores on our feet and we wil go forward until reaching the top, the top where there is nothing to get, no MacDonald, there is not a hotel full of comfort, or even no signal on the phone, only we see the image in our mind of all our efforts to reach at the top, on each fall and each raise on the way to the top we strengthen the body, mind and spirit.

Today I want to tell you two stories very close to me. In the first of these stories I am one of the protagonists and it shows the place whe-re the Martial Science Magazine logo was

created. The second story tells how the true spirit of martial arts is still alive, in places where many do not even know it exists and is played by people so humble that their clothes for training are made up by their grandmo-thers and their weapons are created by their own hands . I hope you enjoy both stories and are encouraged to climb their own mountain.

The year was 2010 when I was sent by the Cuban government to complete a mission of sprts in Venezuela .The political affinities of both countries allowed several coopera-tion and agreements between them. One of the agreements by the Cuban government was to send doctors and teachers of different sports and graduates to provide services to the Venezuelan people. I was sent to a town

called Cumana, located in an area called The Tacal, a small community surrounded by lar-ge hills. I met wonderful people of great heart. They always supported me and gave me their friendship and affection. I had a group of young martial artists training with me. We did not have local practices, but we had the sky as a roof and grass as tatami. From my own students I heard the story of a virgin beach that was right behind a large hill.

I always been addicted to feel the adrenaline. I am always searching for adventure and danger ,so I planned the jour-ney along with two of my most advanced students and depar-ted at 5:00 am, The road was very steep and the vegetation of the place not easy to pro-gress. I had several wounds on my arms because the branches with thorns. One of the hardest setbacks that was presented to us was when we meet face to face with a rattlesnake, it was among the almost impercep-tible dry leaves, we see it be-cause we heard the distinctive

sound of its rattle. We were paralyzed, I knew a bite of a rattlesnake in the place where we were was mortal, We would never get alive to the nearest medical station. The snake was coiled, which meant that the bite could be fatal. Luc-kily we were like 3 meters of it, so we stepped back slowly and went away gradually. We had to find another way for truly Rattlesnake did not think for a moment to move out of the way. After 4 hours walking we reached the beach,

really a beautiful place, a beautiful beach. We just needed a lift to climb near the shore, it was the perfect place to get a panoramic view of the whole place and some good photos, the climb was very difficult, and I had stepped on a cactus and the thorns hurt my right heel, but despite this, I conti-nued until I reach the top. Here is some photos so You can enjoy the scenery as beautiful as I had the joy of being able to see.

After climbing, We practiced martial arts techniques.

Page 7: Martial science magazine 5

OCTOBER/2015 7

My second story is about the commitment of four schools of different styles of martial arts .They did the highest technique of martial arts in Cuba. Climbing the Turquino peak, which is the point of highest elevation on the island of Cuba with 1974 meters over sea level. It is located in the center of the Sierra Maestra, Cuba’s highest mountain range. The mountain is perched on a scenario of 17,540 hectares of rivers, forests, valleys and peaks.

A total of 25 young people traveled about 150 kilo-meters for about 6 days, belonging to four schools of martial arts :Hinode Ryu, ShinKaiDo Ryu, Hon-tai Takagi Yoshin Ryu and Natori Ryu Gungaku of Cuba.

Page 21: Martial science magazine 5

The martial career of Master Yumak began at a young age; at five he started practicing Judo. Later on, interested in learning more about the martial arts, he began the practice of Karate, Shito Ryu style.

Around the year 1993 he approaches to the art of Kung Fu, which immediately captivates him for its beauty and tradition, adventuring into practice of Eagle and Snake styles. It is also at this time when he meets the art of Aikido which intercalates with the practice of Kung Fu and becomes his passion. Such is the case that in 1997 Master Yumak graduated of black belt in this noble Japanese art.

In 1999 he opened his own Dojo where he developed a great job preparing their students martially despite his young age. All the expe-rience gained in previous years as Sempai in the Dojos where he trained and learned hel-ped him enormously in the work as a profes-sor.

Years later he has the honor of entering the wonderful art of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, which was like a light in a dark tunnel, from which he met etiquette and the actual respect of a martial art, as well as the roots of Aikido.

22

By the year 2000 the Master Yumak’s idea of Daibukan Goshin Jutsu was taking shape as he moved forward in martial arts way. It is at this time where he begins to gather concepts of martial arts he practiced and highlighting the importance of the so lost ethics and martial tradition. As he began to teach a few students also helped as an assistant to the Cuban Association of Kenpo and Kaisen Do; alongside these activities, he participated in seminars of Aikido, Shorinji Kempo, and Ni Ten Ishin Ryu Kenjutsu in the two visits the Japane-se Budokan made to the island of Cuba. In 2002 he moved in the United States, where he continues learning martial arts, practicing Nambudo, Pentak Silat, Krav Maga; while he consolidated and increased their martial skills his own style was stren-gthening.

By the year 2009 he founded the “Daibukan-Goshin-jutsu World Organization”; first name given to its con-cept that by that time was a self-defense style.

In 2014 after a restructuring process is modified and re-named the Federation under the new name “SEKAI DAIBUKAN BUGEI RENMEI” dedicated to the teaching of Daibukan Bugei Ryu Ha which already went from being a style of self-defense to be a martial system with various incorporated programs.

This federation manages and supervises all affiliated Dojo and instructor who trains some of the Ryu Ha of “SEKAI DAIBUKAN BUGEI RENMEI”. This federation currently has schools in USA, Cuba, Nicaragua, Mexi-co, Colombia, Serbia, and soon in Spain and Morocco.

The Daibukan Bugei Ryu Ha is defined as a modern form of Budo with real and se-rious roots. We are the right balance be-tween tradition and modernity. The mo-vements and techniques are precise and short, with necessary and elegant steps. Its name translates as “The Martial Aca-demy of the Great Warrior’s House”.

We do not jeopardize the effectiveness for the visually spectacular and we always promote non-aggression and non-violen-ce, but the preparation is guided to deal and solve a real confrontation that can-not be avoided.

The Daibukan Bugei Ryu Ha consists of several martial programs (Taijutsu, We-apons, and Therapeutic system) all of which within a system that is adapted to each practitioner according to their mar-tial history.

The Daibukan Bugei is considered a Gen-dai Sogo Budo or a modern art composed of several other arts. Nowadays there are several schools that use the same princi-ple, each of them doing their own work and all their point of view are respected.

In the particular case of Daibukan, pri-marily is rescued the code of ethics and etiquette of the ancient samurai of feudal Japan. At the same time are both merged and harmonized concepts and strategies of current and ancient arts into one, the

se come together in perfect harmony and stability.

The instruction technical and theoretical allows the students a broader and more solid knowledge of what they study. They are allowed to apply creativity and adap-tation on techniques, adapting them ac-cording to their physique and skills, all of this after mastering at its most elemental base.

The formation not only works from the academic field but also moral. We seek to create fair, honest, and productive people to our society.

All this together with traditional tea-chings, helps educate our students in ways that other schools do not achieve either by their focus dedicated to compe-tition or toughest combat.Obviously the development of tactics, physical, and martial skills are an impor-tant part but would be useless without the above. The essence of martial bases of the styles that integrate our Ryu Ha offers a unique knowledge to the student, something completely new that would not be found before in another school.

The levels in the Bugei Daibukan Ryu Ha are established using as pattern the old ways of classification starting the MU-DANSHA from Nyumon (entry or start) and through the primary grades (Sho-den), medium (Chuden), superior (Oku-den) and them reaching the higher levels of YUDANSHA rank.

In the case of training uniform (Keiko Gi) these are usually black or dark color, complemented with the use of traditional Hakama, which unlike other more com-mercialized arts it is used from the be-ginning as a classic symbol of Japanese Budo, and not as a designation of rank. The white color in uniforms is usually seen in children under age determining the pu-rity of his actions, although the Hakama remains dark color. Only the Kaiso (foun-der) can dress white completely (Keiko Gi and Hakama).

The form of training is almost similar in all the programs included in our Ryu Ha, always with differences according to the physical and psychological characteristics of each particular person.

In the case of the programs of our system the difference lies more in the way of work and technical execution while the way of training and warming up of the therapeu-tic and weapon programs is elemental of martial arts, always with its peculiar cha-racteristics.

Every class has a common beginning, starting with the classic greeting of our school, meditation, and exercises of mo-bilization of Ki energy. All this followed by warming up of muscle groups and joints and continued for exercises with a partner (Sotai Dosa), each are distinguished ac-cording to martial program and the style techniques that are been learned.

Always each workout or class ends as it began, with a traditional greeting as the Japanese tradition says “Every martial art begins and ends with courtesy”.

MARTIAL ARTS:

An Evolutionary Practice

Valery Prosvirov, Headmaster and owner of the Golden Dragon school of Chinese Martial Arts located in the Brentwood section of los Angeles, California

Page 29: Martial science magazine 5

OCTOBER/2015 29

Hello, my name is Valery Prosvirov, Headmaster and owner of the Golden Dragon school of Chine-se Martial Arts located in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, California.

Dzidu Krishnamurti once said: “To do what you want - a real slavery, but to do what is necessary - this is true freedom.” These words of wisdom can be difficult to comprehend in the world of today with all of it’s materialism and need for immedia-te gratification. It’s easy to get confused between what we want and what we need. Satisfying need requires effort, whereas in satisfying desires we look for the easiest means to the end: in other words laziness.

We complicate our lives by storing too much useless information and leaving little room for useful knowledge that can help us to grow. We’re always on the go, waking early, working late and not having enough time for the important parts of life. Neglecting to spend time with loved ones while rationalizing that making money for them somehow justifies the lack of time spent with them. They are not happy and neither are you. You dream that one day all of your efforts will pay off and you’ll be a hero!

Achieving balance should be the goal of one’s life. To live at the extremes in hopes that one day this will bring balance is how life ends with regrets; of promises unfulfilled.

But let’s assume for a moment that one can achie-ve balance by extremes, allocating all of your time to work, neglecting loved ones for the promise of getting rich. Ok so now you’re rich, how do you repair relationships with your children who grew up without you? A spouse who no longer remem-bers why she fell in love you. What about the great balance?

Remember that while the sun is over your head,

there is darkness over someone else’s. Doesn’t everybody deserve to enjoy the sun? And serious-ly, have you ever truly thought about the expres-sion - “I’ll do what I want.” How that sounds? You will eat what you want, sleep when you want ... will not think about the money, but simply buy a new car when the old one runs out of gas. You will be thinking more about yourself than about others. Maybe as a counter balance you’ll take some yoga classes and meditate the mantra, “I’m not a selfish person, I’m not a selfish person…wow that was easy!” Or maybe instead of the pursuit of money for money’s sake, you will be creative and useful to others, you will become “usefully crea-tive”. Maybe invent a new car, think Tesla…why not? A valiant pursuit, but ... and there is always an unpleasant BUT! It is constantly telling us that with any worthy cause, most of the time spent is devoted to things that we do not want to do. May-be 20% will go into creativity, while the remainder of the time is spent in annoying routine: negotia-tions, agreements, signatures, approvals, accoun-ting, control to name a few of the mundane tasks one must perform to run a successful business.

Martial Arts: An Evolutionary PracticeBy: Valery Prosvirov

Page 30: Martial science magazine 5

30

As you know, there is no sky without clouds, and life without worries, there is only a diffe-rent approach to it. Contrary to popular belief, embracing the clouds and the worries help us to do what is necessary.

But, the expression “I want” and the attitude behind it causes us big problems. The sooner we understand this the faster we can adjust our attitudes from laziness to effort. If you unders-tand that all worthy endeavors require effort, then you start out with the proper mindset and create better opportunities for accomplishing goals.

As a master and teacher with more than 30 years of experience, I can say with absolute certainty that there is no better weapon against laziness than martial arts. Laziness is an insi-dious enemy that has many faces. Look around and you’ll see a lot of seemingly intelligent people in very bad physical shape. They always say that they are not lazy, just very busy. There are others, physically overdeveloped but unedu-cated; with them the same story, they have no time to read books. These are just two examples out of too many to count.

Many “modern” people posses a laziness that is huge and unrestrained. One cannot gain victory

over it by immersing him/herself in fad fitness regimens or fancy combative sports.

These things provide short-term occupation in one place and the illusion of development in another. And wherever there is illusion there is laziness and ignorance, it is a rule that has exis-ted as long as humans have walked the earth.

So how do we combat this illusion and find ba-lance? How do we tell people that are working out hard at the gym or running a half marathon or behind their desks ten hours per day that they are not developing themselves or to the contrary, actually regressing; eating only one part of the meal while ignoring the rest?

The answer is by utilizing a fully integrated system, one that was developed and perfected centuries ago which affects all of the most im-portant parts of a person: morality, intelligen-ce, spirit and body. These integral parts should be developed together, following a single law- the law of The Way of the perfect man. To many people these words might sound pompous, however, there is very deep meaning to them and only by looking deep beneath the surface will there be understanding of them .

Page 31: Martial science magazine 5

OCTOBER/2015 31

The main goal of martial arts is so much more than just the ability to kick high or punch fast, it is self improvement!

The traditional Chinese martial arts that I practice and teach is a perfect system for every human being. It is not about belts and awards that feed the ego, it is about evolving to a higher self and therefore, an understanding of life’s bigger issues.

It is an evolutionary practice to achieving balance and perspective.

Page 32: Martial science magazine 5

A farmer plowed the land with a hoe day after day, year after year. The work was hard, but the harvest was plentiful. And yet, one day he couldn’t help but ask himself, “Why am I working so hard? Life is meaningless and boring! Where is my life heading?”

Shortly afterwards, a monk came to his house to ask for alms. The monk looked free and happy, which deeply impressed the farmer. Being a monk and living an unencumbered life seemed admirable. Yes, what a good idea! The farmer cheerfully made up his mind to give up everything and become a monk.

As soon as he left his house, he suddenly felt how empty his hands were. He was so used to holding a hoe in his hands to work that without the hoe he now felt a little lost. Therefore, he went back to his house, picked up his hoe, and tried hard to think of what he could do with it. It was a fine hoe. The shaft was smooth and shiny from daily use. It would be heartbreaking to throw it away.

“OK, then,” he thought, “I’ll wrap it up and put it away.” He found a secure place in the house to hide it. Now everything was settled. With his mind at ease, the farmer left his house at last.

The farmer did all he could to fulfill the requirements to be a true monk. However, he could hardly resist thinking of his hoe whenever he came across green paddies. Every now and

then, he would rush back home just to feel the hoe and then return to the temple.

Time passed by quickly. After seven or eight years, he felt that something was missing. “Why haven’t I fulfilled my dream of becoming a free, happy monk after having tried very hard to cultivate my morality? There is something I haven’t let go of. Now it’s time to get rid of my burden!” He rushed back home, picked up the hoe and threw it into a lake. Splash, there it went! “I won! I succeeded!” he couldn’t resist crying out loud.

Just at that moment, a king, leading his victorious army, happened to pass by. He overheard the cry and went to ask the monk, “What did you win? Why are you so cheerful?” “I have conquered the devils in my heart. I have let all my burdens go.”

The king saw that the monk was really happy and free from earthly burdens and delusions. The king thought to himself, “Now I’ve won the war. Victory is mine. But am I really happy? I took lands that didn’t belong to me. It is not real victory.” Then and there, the king realized that although he had won the war, he was not a real winner, but a common person burdened with life’s vexations. He realized that in order to become a real winner and a saint, you have to conquer the devils in your heart.

After you did the best of the best on 1998, you did not film nothing else. What did you do on that time?

I was involved in creating a 3D technology for the Motion Pictures. It was me and James Miller. We build the company from 20 people to 500 people. Af-ter the best of the best movie I opened the etvspots Company. It is an advertising agancy.

It is been 17 years after you filmed that movie. What was special about Underdog Kids?

I wanted to get back to the martial art industry. I did not want a movie about violence. I wanted a movie that kids will enjoy and parents can see martial arts teaching no just the physical part but the hylosophy of martial arts. They will encourage the kids and will see what is behind martial arts. Kids will learn res-pect and discipline thoose are values that you need in martial arts.It is a good movie for the family. It is good for a movie night an get all together. I wanted to bring a film specifically for family.

On the film we can see a lot of talented kids. What you cal tell us about the cas-ting?

We did the casting to over 600 kids.We found kids from Dallas Texas, San Diego, New York , one from Colorado .A lot of kids of the movie came from diffe-rent discipline like Taekwondo, Kong-fu, Karate and we wanted mix it up.We found a relly good cast . Inside the movie we did not see just the kids but also good martial artist like Benny Ur-quidez, Dan Inosanto, Richard Norton…

First I wanted to have actors to do the role of jud-ges but I decided at the last minute that It would be fun to see masters from martial arts movies togete-her at the end of the movie. One day we called every-body. We did not know their schedule but when they heard about the movie and what kind of movie was , they showed up the next day. I think that was becau-se what the movie is about . I am really thankful for their support.

Are you doing any new project?

There is the possibility of making Underdog Kids 2 and there is a possibility of rebooting Best of the Best, currently the movie Best of the Best is in the 13 more inspirational movies of all the time in Fandango.

There is any possibility of seen you working with Simon Rhee one more time?

Absolutly, he is right now busy with Stunt Coordina-tion and Fight Choreography for martial art movie .He was recently the fight coordinator for Terminator Genesis.

Do you have something else that you would like to talk to

I think that martial arts is the gratest sport in the world. it changes people for a better good and for me it is very important that all martial artist respect each other styles .We need to embrace all the styles. We need to teach people not to knock people down but to lift people up. Because that is the lesson they will carry through the whole life. When people have a di-fficult time in live they wont give up. And that is what martial arts teaches no physically but also spiritual and mentally.

How were your beginnings in the martial arts?

My parents enrolled me in martial arts to help me with my severe shyness. They believed it would make me physically and mentally stronger and eventually improve my self confidence. I began my martial arts training at Church’s Martial Arts which is a Tae Kwon Do school.

2. What are your main achievements in martial arts competitions?

I am an eleven time world champion in martial arts. I won the triple crowned two years in a row: tradi-tional forms, traditional weapons and sparring. I also have world titles in creative weapons, extreme

weapons and forms. I have over 25 state and cham-pionships.

3. How did you feel when you compete against older girls?

At first, it was very intimidating. Then, I realized it only pushed me to become more determined to be stronger and push my myself to the limit.

4. How was your experience working with Phillip Rhee in UnderDogKids?

It was an experience of a lifetime! To be in the presen-ce of a world renowned master was overwhelming at first but he was so humble and nurturing. It was my first time on a movie set and Master Rhee made sure that I was comfortable with direction and pushed me to do my best.

5. Did you learn from him?

I learned so much from him. The most important being that you “Never Give Up.” The movie is based on his experiences growing up and he explained that “one should always choose the path of a warrior.” We will have to make many decisions in life and the right choice is usually the toughest. Also, learning how to do the fight scenes was awesome!

We also had the opportunity to interview one of the costars of

UNDERDOG KIDS

6. What do you think UnderdogKids teaches to the young?

Underdog Kids teaches kids that you must work hard to reach your goals. Don’t let anyone knock you down.If they do, you have to pull yourself up. Master Rhee teaches life lessons throughout the movie.

Through Martial Arts, he teaches kids to be strong in the mind, the body and heart. He makes them unders-tand that it becomes a way of life.

7. What are your plans for the future?

I would like to continue acting and do more films. Hopefully, another with Master Rhee! I am training with Master Jean Lopez to compete for US National TKD Team in the future. I have Olympic dreams! I want to inspire other kids to train hard, follow their dreams and NEVER GIVE UP!!

So much has been written on the merits of each martial art: there are countless opinions on why one martial art is effective or another is not. Cer-tainly many people have had their attention con-sumed by technical analyses and comparisons of various martial arts.

I have been teaching martial arts for many years and have trained in several, and over the decades have had a chance to explore numerous areas and put together an image of what it takes to be a com-

plete martial artist. There are no shortcuts, and the path requires great dedication and long term com-mitment.

When I hear questions like “Does this work?” or “Is this practical on the street?” in their various forms, I often also witness a form of distraction on the part of the student. I believe this distraction is a misdirection of the student’s attention on the par-ticular technique rather than their own develop-ment. It is tempting to go into a deep dive into the context in which a technique might be used, along with a variety of “what if ” caveats, such as “what if the attacker is shorter /taller /stronger /faster/...?” The analysis at this point can be endless, and in my opinion, meaningless. In the intensity of conflict, all that discussion goes out the window, and whatis left is one’s training: pure and simple.

I suggest an alternative approach: let’s not get dis-tracted about which art is the best (for whatever purpose the student has in mind). Let’s assume that most of the martial arts out there are excellent for whatever their purposes are. After all, many very talented people dedicated their lives to ensuring those arts would be very good indeed, and can offer countless examples as proof. Let’s instead assume that each person is attracted to a particular mar-tial art because of the complex variations in their

humanity and personal history, and leave it at that. My assertion is that it doesn’t matter which art one chooses: it matters a great deal what one does with the training.

I believe this situation is a great opportunity to encourage students to examine their dedication. I would suggest offering students who ask such ques-

tions the possibility that there is a more productive question they could be asking: “How effective is my training and martial arts development?” This can create a years long conversation between the student and yourself.

The conversation could open with personal responsibility, which I suggest beginning like this:

“As a student, do you take full responsibility for your training?”

“Do you objectively assess your skills, strengths, and weaknesses?”

“Do you take firm action to improve yourself either in class or outside of class every day?”

“Do you take full advantage of what your teacher and school have to offer?”

“If you have weak muscles, do you strengthen them?”

“If you are quickly running out of breath, do you work on your cardiovascular fitness?”

“Have you trained the basic techniques 10,000 times each? How about 100,000 times?”

When a student learns a martial art, they don’t just become a clone of their teacher. They eventually own that art, make it part of their mind, body, and spirit, and apply it in ways that are unique and unrepeat-able when compared to all other human beings. It makes no sense at all to compare the objective forms, because it is not an objective form that is being hypothetically tested in the mind of the student it is the person.

I think the answer to the student’s original question is this: “If you fully commit to the training, this mar-tial art will become your martial art, and will be exactly as effective as you train yourself to be.

The Bansenshukai

In 1676, Fujibayashi Yasutake (also Yasuyoshi, see 35) in Higashiyufune (Ayama area in Iga-city) edi-ted “the Bansenshukai” for the fear of losing the value of Ninjutsu (Ninja’s skills and techniques). It those days, although Japan was at peace, “the Ban-senshukai” remained to be like the Bible among all of Ninjas. So, having “the Banseshukai” was permi-tted for the top class of Ninjas. “The Bansenshukai” was strictly forbidden to be shared. Every Ninja really wanted “the Banseshukai “ The meaning of “the Bansenshukai” is 10.000 ri-vers gathering into 1 sea. That is to say, the 10.000 rivers are compared to all kinds of Ninjutsu in Iga and Koga, and the 1 sea was Fujibayashi Yasutake’s Ninjutsu. “The Bansenshukai” was a written trans-mission of philosophy, military strategy tactics, astrology and weapons that were identified speci-fically with Ninjutsu; Fujibayashi Yasutake was influenced by Chinese thought, and even indicates a connection to Chinese military traditions in its writings. He presented the material as the ultimate accumulation and perfection of Ninjutsu knowle-dge, as the name, “the Bansenshukai” itself sugges-ted. “The Bansenshukai” collection includes one volume of introduction, a question and answer sec-tion, and a table of contents; 2 volumes on thought and philosophy, 4 volumes on leadership, 3 volu-mes on “Yo Ninjutsu; “5 volumes on “In Ninjutsu,” 2 volumes on astrology and 5 volumes on weapons. The Iga version has 22 chapters bound in 12 vo-lumes with an additional 4 chapters in 4 volumes. In the “the Bansenshukai” there were writing about the 11 most wonderful Iga Ninjas: in Iga area, No-mura-noMagodayu (see 35); Shindo-no-Kotaro (see 35); Tateoka-no-Dojun (see 35); Shimotsu-ge-no-Kizaru and Kozaru (see 35); in Ueno area, Ueno-no-Hidari (see 35); Kanbe-no-Konan (see 35); Takayama-no-Taroshiro and Tarozaemon (see 35); in Oyamada area, Yamada-no-Hachiuemon (see 39); In Ayama area, Otowa-no-Kido (see 35). It was from Tateoka-no -Dojun that Dojun school started and later expanded into the 49 known Iga schools. That is to say, Iga Ninjutsu had 49 schools. “The Bansenshukai,” even at the end of Edo period were much worth. The worth of “the Bansenshukai”
