The family moved to Lincoln, ARin 1956. She graduated from Lincoln High School in1970. She lived in Arkansas, Utah, Germany,California, Arkansas, California and back to Arkansasduring her life, always considering Lincoln as her‘home’. She was a Legal Secretary and worked formany lawyers in Arkansas and California.
Family was the most important thing in the world forMartha. Her greatest joy was having familyget-togethers, and she could turn any day into a familyreunion. For example; the release of a Star Wars movieon DVD would cause her to invite her kids, grandkids, and anyone else interested to the house to watch it. Sheloved getting together with her siblings to talk about thefamilies, and share stories. Even small things, likehaving one of her grandchildren call and just talk aboutwhat was happening in school, brought her extremehappiness. She had a love of animals that was unending. Her pets were always a part of the family, at one pointhaving 7 dogs, a cat, and she still wanted to save more.
Football was Martha’s second love. She was alwayshappy during football season, where she would watchthe games all day on Sunday, the Monday night game, the Thursday game, and repeat it all over again the nextSunday. She enjoyed it the most when she could watchthe games with her kids. For her, one of the simplestjoys was watching a Pittsburg Steelers Game withJames, Richard, and Kelly, and any number of thegrandkids who were there, all decked out in theirSteelers gear.
