Marshalls of Sutton on Trent Ltd is a family run company which was formed in February 1989. Initially operating with one second hand 45 seater coach, the company has now grown to a fleet of 37 buses and coaches, which include 11 coaches and 26 service buses, many of which have been bought new over the last few years.With the new arrival of our latest Mercedes coach with air conditioning, 53 seats and a toilet, all of our front line coaches are air conditioned for your comfort.

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS On booking, passengers will be allocated a seat number and will normally be accommodated in that seat, but the company reserves the right to alter seating plans.

CHILD FARES Children under three years of age, providing they do not occupy a seat, may be conveyed free of charge (only one per adult). There will be an entrance fee where applicable. Any other children and those 3-15 years inclusive will be charged the appropriate child fare.

REFUNDS A refund, due to illness (less 20% of the total price) will be granted if application is made at least five days prior to the departure date. No refunds will be given after this date unless medical evidence is produced. Should the company, for any reason, find it necessary to cancel an excursion in advance, then a full refund will be given.

ANIMALS No animals other than guide dogs will be carried.

SMOKING We regret that smoking is not permitted on any of our coaches.

REFRESHMENTS Are not included in any excursion unless stated otherwise.

Due to VAT legislation any day excursion where a ticket to a venue or show is included in the tour price will now attract VAT on the full cost. This has resulted in an unfortunate increase in the cost of excursions where it is necessary book show/venue tickets in advance.

To reduce costs for our passengers, we have removed where we can the inclusion of entry to such venues. You will find in this new brochure purple highlights to guide you with regard to inclusion of entry, where we are providing the coach journey only we have stated the entry costs you will need to pay on arrival.

WHEELCHAIRS & SCOOTERS Due to the increase in the use of wheelchairs and scooters we would like to ask you to inform us if you wish to take either of these items on our coaches. The driver is not responsible for loading a scooter or wheelchair into the coach due to the weight of the scooter or wheelchair.

The company will endeavour to run the excursions as advertised in this leaflet, but reserve the right to alter or suspend any service without prior notification.

The return times from the destinations are shown for guidance only and the company cannot be held responsible for any delays for whatever reason.

All passengers should note that it is their responsibility to arrive at the pick-up and departure points at the times specified on their excursion ticket, unless otherwise notified by the driver.

The company cannot be held responsible for the late arrival of passengers who are subsequently left behind.

Please confirm your pick up stop and time with your agent at IMP Travel or Marshalls Coaches when you book your ticket.

Please try to be at your pick up point 5 minutes before the coach is due. Sometimes delays may occur due to heavy traffic but we will do our best to get to you as soon as we can.

Day trips run North (Route X) and South (Route I) of the Barbican Hotel in Lincoln at the stated brochure time. Pick-ups for most day trips are also available at the following places.

Marshalls Day Excursions

Available to book now, excursions commencing on 17th September 2020. Please note the attached brochure features excursion before this date which are NOT running.

We are looking forward to welcoming our day excursion passengers aboard our coaches once more. We have put into place guidance for our drivers and passengers to reduce the risk of transmission of the coronavirus.

Passengers are responsible for their own safety in adhering to social distancing guidelines where possible. All passengers must wear a face covering when they board the coach and this covering must stay in place for the whole journey. Any passenger refusing to abide by current legislation for face coverings will be asked to leave the coach.

Our seating plans have been altered to adhere to the current guidelines and will be adjusted as restrictions are lessened. Passengers must sit in the seat as detailed on their ticket or as directed by the driver. If you have an aisle seat and the window seat next to you is empty that is likely because the window seat behind or in front is occupied, please in this instance do not move to the window seat. Our full company risk assessment for Covid-19 is available, please contact our office for a copy.

Referring to our normal terms and conditions: Excursions will run if the required minimum number of passengers is reached, the company reserves the right to alter seating plans if required. Excursions that include an attraction or event such as a Christmas market can be booked. If, at a later date, the event included is cancelled you can transfer to another excursion or receive a credit note.

SEPTEMBER

Lichfield is a vibrant and historic city and district located in the heart of Staffordshire, just north of Birmingham. Lichfield’s streets are lined with museums, independent shops, mouth-watering restaurants. The city has a rich and varied history, with Georgian museums including the Samuel Johnson Birthplace and Erasmus Darwin House, through to the stunning medieval Lichfield Cathedral.

LICHFIELDThursday 17th September

Stamford is widely regarded as one of the finest stone towns in England. Stamford was used as the setting for the 2005 film, Pride & Prejudice as well as appearing in Middlemarch and The Da Vinci Code. Every Friday is market day and the pavements will be packed with shoppers stocking up on local produce including fruit, vegetables, meats, fresh fish, pies and bread.

STAMFORD Friday 25th September

Downtown offers a massive 400,000 sq. ft of everything you might need for you, your home and garden.With leading brands in all departments and coffee shops to refuel it’s a real day out.

OCTOBER

Norwich is a wonderful fusion of the modern and historic, one complementing the other. Like any great city its centre is easy to walk around and has a river at its heart. As well as being the most complete medieval city in the UK, it has a flourishing arts, music and cultural scene, superb independent as well as High Street shopping, lively restaurants, bars and nightlife and a heritage that is a delight to explore.

Whilst visiting Norwich why not visit the cathedral, which has been chosen as one of just 8 venues to host the magnificent 22-meter-long ‘Dippy the Diplodocus’.

This is part of a special UK-wide tour organised by the Natural History Museum and is a spectacle not to be missed for children and adults alike.

NORWICHSunday 18th October

Join us again for our ever-popular excursion to Blackpool Illuminations. See this seaside city of fun still buzzing with excitement and laughter, long after other resorts have gone into Winter hibernation. The illuminations are switched on at around approximately 18.15 and at 10km long and using over one million bulbs, the illuminations are an awesome spectacle for people of all ages.

BLACKPOOL ILLUMINATIONS Saturday 24th October

The Arboretum is an ever-evolving maturing woodland landscape featuring 30,000 trees and a vast collection of memorials.

The 150-acre site is a living, growing tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country. Other attractions include the Millennium Chapel and gift shop. There is also an on-site restaurant and coffee shop.

The largest authentic German market outside of Germany and Austria. The centrepiece of Birmingham’s Christmas calendar returns year after year. Explore over 180 stalls selling gifts, jewellery, festive decorations and handmade toys. Whilst there indulge in the German fate and of course the ever popular Glühwein (mulled wine). Made with white and red wine and various spices such as cinnamon, cloves, lemon slices and aniseed. It is the perfect drink for a winter’s day.

NOVEMBER / DECEMBER

For much of the year the Grey Seals at Donna Nook Nature Reserve are at sea. Every November and December the seals give birth to their pups near the sand dunes. This spectacle attracts visitors from across the UK. You will visit the seals in the morning and then afterwards drop back into Louth for the afternoon where you can visit the market which is vibrant and colourful with over 50 stalls.

DONNA NOOK SEALS & LOUTH Wednesday 25th November

Start the Christmas month with a trip to Chatsworth House for our ever-popular festive event. Included in your visit will be entrance to the house (time to be confirmed) to see all the wonderful Christmas displays and decorations inside the beautiful house. The theme for this seasons display is ‘A Palace of Advent’. You can spend your time in the Christmas Shop and walk around the Christmas market. Soak up the Christmas atmosphere as you browse over 100 stalls offering a wide variety of Christmas gifts, decorations and stocking fillers.

CHATSWORTH AT CHRISTMASTuesday 1st December (Entrance included)

DECEMBER

This will be the third of what is now an annual and award-winning event which takes place in the town centre.The Victorian Christmas Market is a themed event with stall holders dressed in Victorian costumes. There will be entertainment throughout the town; a stage in Henley Street will host a programme of performances.

STRATFORD CHRISTMAS MARKET Friday 11th December

Again, this year we visit the ever-popular city of York. Scents of spiced mulled wine and delicious food fill the air, making a York Christmas the place to be this season. The popular festive market will be back with its usual Christmas fun.Soak up the festive atmosphere as you stroll along to St Nicholas fair and discover fine Yorkshire produce. If you are looking for the more traditional Christmas gifts, then head to the alpine chalets on Parliament Street.Head down Kings Square and experience all the fun of the fair and sample some of the beautiful food and drink on offer including roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate with Bailey’s or a warming glass of mulled wine.
